Questions for moms of kids with soy allergies
Please forgive my ignorance on the topic.
It's our turn to bring in the snack for DS' class tomorrow. One child has a "soy" allergy. I was going to make brownies and just looked at the box and it says "contains soybean ingredients." Is "soy" and "soybean" the same thing? Are the brownies something this child cannot eat?
Thx.

Re: Questions for moms of kids with soy allergies
Yes, they are the same. Soy, Soybean, Soy Lechtin, Veggie oil... All soy products. My DS had a soy allergy for years. I had to make everything from scratch... I think the only box mixes without soy are Dr. Oteker's. (still check the box) And 2 boxes are the same as 1 betty crocker.
ETA- he can't eat them if they have soy products and he has a soy allergy.
