Would it bother you if...
Your mother planned a trip to Europe and wouldn't be back until less than 3 weeks from your due date?
I know she can't stop living her life because I am pregnant, but it seems a little close to me!

It wouldn't bother me, actually, my mom and dad had a vacation about 4 weeks before my due date with DD. I was more jealous that they were going and I wasn't.
But it wasn't an issue, I went late with my 1st, so I didn't expect to go 4 weeks early with my 2nd. I wound up going late with that pg too.
Did you go early/late with your DD? How much earlier/late?

Did you go early/late with your DD? How much earlier/late?
I was induced at around 39w 3d, so I wasn't early. I think 4 weeks is different than 3 weeks before - seems much more unlikely 4 weeks out. Also, it's not just about missing the birth - I need her to watch DD while I am in the hospital, since DH wants to be there with me and the baby.

Would it bother you if...
My parents do not live locally and I did not expect them to come and hang out for weeks waiting for DS to come out. He came early and they drove up and got here 2 days later.

Mine live 5 minutes away and we are very close.
Like I said - I don't expect her to not live her life, just seems to be cutting it a little close to me.

I understand your worries. Have you asked her the plans if you go into labor early? Maybe she is willing to get on a plane and come home asap. I know you need her to watch your DD...but talk to your mom and see if she has a contingency plan. It might help ease your fear.

I'm not worried. Either DH could just stay with DD or my dad can take her (my mom is going away with friends). And my mom works for the airline so she could easily jump on a plane and come home. I would just think she wouldn't want to take the chance of missing it! Most likely it won't be an issue since it is a few weeks from my due date, but you just don't know.

My mom and I are super close...but 3 weeks is awhile and I don't think it would bother me too much.

I wouldn't be that upset about it especially that you said she can get on a plane and come home quick. Plus 3 weeks is close but not that close and your dd can stay with your father if by chance you come that early.

Yeah - exactly.
I know it is highly unlikely, but it happens! I just know I would be really upset if she wasn't there. Hopefully it doesn't happen, and if it does, life goes on.
