let's talk toilets
So we now have wall tiles and a vanity for our new bathroom-wahoo!!
We're getting everything a bit slowly now since we just had 2 substantial expenses (new boiler/hot water heater and a fence), but i do have the vanity top/sink and faucet picked out.
Now it's on to picking out a toilet!
Does anyone have a toilet like this?
Pros? Cons? I just feel like it would be SO easy to clean-i hate cleaning all the twists and turns that are noramlly at the bottom of the toilet, but I'm not sure if this is that aesthetically pleasing?
Should I go with something more decorative?
Maybe like this?

I think it depends on the look you are going for. #1 is more modern looking and #2 is more traditional.

Re: let's talk toilets
I'm with you on the cleaning part, especially with having a guy in the house, there is some splashing, kwim ? All those crevices, I hate them.
Now if the toilet was only self-cleaning.....

I love #2.
If you have a matching pedestal sink it would look really retro.

I like number 1.
I have what you are describing (with twists and crevices) and I HATE IT! Cleaning it is so not fun.
I wish I saw the first one you posted when we were toilet shopping a few years ago.

#1 is a skirted bottom. They are modeled after the toilets in asia.
If it is a TOTO I would make sure you look at it in person. They tend to be small and feel small when you sit on them. I was goign to get one because I have the tinyest bathroom in creation. I know Consumers has them in their bath showroom.
#2 will look good if you are having a more classic look. Not my style but still a nice toilet.

We have two Toto toilets - they are the best toilets (much better than our Kohler). They have a round seat (which might be smaller) or an oval seat (same size as all the other other toilets). Many different styles - we have a skirted bottom and it is definitely easier to clean.
ETA: We have a toilet similar to the 2nd pic but with the skirted bottom:
And I just noticed the prices went up quite a bit since we purchased.

I would get #1 for the same reason you like it. I hate cleaning all of those turns and crevices.

Re: let's talk toilets
Thanks everyone...so far we have this tile picked out for the shower-already picked it up ( a marble tile for walls or floor)
and we bought this vanity:
the vanity will have a different vanity top and different hardware though
I think i'm leaning more towards something like the bottom toilet-i think the top one is too modern looking
After doing some research on skirted toilets, i also found out that they're often open in the back which is weird to me

Re: let's talk toilets
We have TOTO toilet bowls & I love the silent close of the lid & how sturdy they are. My husband read an interview with Derek Jeter & apparently he will only own TOTO toilet bowls. We had ours before we knew so that isn't why but I find it funny.

With this type of finishes I would go for the 2nd choice. #1 will def be too modern.
