Richmond VA?

Anyone live in Richmond VA? We currently live in Chesapeake. But I like the city vibe Richmond has & are in the very very early stages of talking about this area.

Richmond VA?

We have a lot of friends there and they love it. Taxes are pretty cheap, a lot of shopping stores, restaurants.
A lot of New Yorkers live there.

Re: Richmond VA?

It's nice I'd live there. My sister lives in the suburbs of Richmond and we visit often. If dh didn't have a teaching job here we would move there

Re: Richmond VA?

I LOVE Richmond! I have many friends that went to college there and decided to stay. I love the urban feel and if I wasn't such a beach gal, Id consider moving there too.

Re: Richmond VA?

One of my friends lives about 30 minutes or so outside of there.

She has a brand new, huge, beautiful home on tons of land in the woods for about what we paid for our little tiny 1950s house that needs a ton of upgrades.

Taxes are cheap. I wanna say well below $1000 a year).

But the tradeoff for her, is she gets to be a SAHM but her DH is in construction and from what I hear, jobs are few and far between.

He works hours away and only comes home on the weekends.

They went through their savings last year because he couldn't find a job.

This is someone with years of experience who has run companies here in NY.

I used to go down there for business quite a bit. Beautiful homes for half of what you'd pay for them on LI.

Glen Allen and Innsbrook were nice areas.
