Re-glazing tile?
Has anyone done this? Our MB is very small but has a lot of ugly pinkish/brownish tile. Instead of replacing it all I was watching HGTV and they suggested re-glazing. If you have done this can you do different colors? How much did it cost? TIA

Re: Re-glazing tile?
We have someone scheduled to come in a few weeks from now for tub and tile reglazing.
Yes, you can do any color you want. I just picked a Benjamin Moore color and that was that.
The bathroom that we are getting this done in is small: roughly 6x6. Its $8/sq foot for white; for color, its an additional charge ($35/gallon needed...we need only one because its small and we are doing half white/half gray).
Melgasales.com is who we are using.
Where are you located? The company I am using came highly recommended to me by a friend- she's the president of her building's board and they use them in empty apartments often. They do the five boroughs; not sure about LI.

Re: Re-glazing tile?
I did this in my old home and I would NEVER do thisina forever home. Never again. While it came out great, you cannot clean it with the heavy duty cleaners, it can chip and it's very hard to keep clean IMO. I would not do itin a forever home.

Re: Re-glazing tile?
I reglazed my tub twice and its peeled twice, badly. we live in a coop or Id replace the tub (its a 85 year old cast iron tub and it costs $$$ to take out). Its becoming a safety hazard with the peeling so we have to have a bath fitter just for the tub. I would never, never glaze anything if this was our permanent home.
