Difficult sellers
I think I am buying a house from NY's most difficult sellers.Every week it is something else! They are seriously stressing me out. They do not care what the actual laws are they come up with an idea and then my lawyer has to explain to their lawyer why XYZ cannot be done a certain way. This week they are trying to postpone closing past the mortgage commitment date after going back and forth over that they have decided they will only close the day before the commitment expires which is 36 days after our original agreed upon closing date. AAHHHH! Just needed to vent.

Re: Difficult sellers
Ugh, I'm sorry. We are going through so much cr@p purchasing the house we are buying too.
Are they purchasing another house to move into? Are you in a position to 'rent' them the house at a daily rate for a short time after you close? Maybe that will allow them to move the closing date up?

Difficult sellers
Sorry you are dealing with the same home buying BS. The seller are buying a new home as far as I know but have not said anything about it. The biggest problem is they are pushy but do not disclose why- at this point even their own lawyer seems upset. Their initial reason for wanting to change the closing date was they planned a vacation but the vacation is three weeks after our original closing date. At this point my attorney has advised DH and I NOT to rent the property to them if they ask...I do not think we will be able to get them out without a lot of drama.

Some people are a$$holes, plain and simple.
I think there's no other explanation.
Sending you lots of strength to make it through this.

Yeah, after I wrote my post last night I was thinking, omg, what if they are a nightmare and won't leave after their 'rental' period expires!

Re: Difficult sellers
Ugh - those are the worst! I'm sorry you have to deal with that.
When we were buying, we put an offer on a home, we agreed to price all good. Once we went to lawyers, they basically hired someone that had no idea what they were doing, and literally went back and forth for almost a month on things that were previously agreed. We got totally fed up, and dropped out. So glad we did because we got a home that we love so much more now.
Hang in there!
