Anyone have any experience with them? How we're they price wise compared to Home Depot or lowes?

Re: Empire carpet/floors?
Yes, I HATED them! The carpet quality was "eh", the padding they used was cr@p, and the installers were AWFUL!! They did a TERRIBLE install job, it was like they had never installed a carpet before. We were very unhappy. SO unhappy.
We've since replaced two of the four carpets they installed for us and we went to a place by our house and their prices were great, the carpet and padding quality was excellent, and their install job was beautiful.
I personally find Empire to be cheap cr@p, they hook you in with these good deals but the finished product is garbage. I would never use them again.

Empire carpet/floors?
I had a terrible experience with them as well. After the sales person left my house, I didn't understand how she had worked out the pricing/square footage. I called her back to ask about it and she pretty much yelled at me out for questioning her. I called the main office and told them to cancel my order. They reduced the price and talked me into keeping the order which I never should have done. Within 2 years, the carpet was buckled across my living room floor and it was very difficult to keep clean. Never again!

HATED THEM! I have posted by sob story on here before, but you can FM for details. In my opinion, stay away.
We used Carpet Depot (not sure how competative they are with pricing) but the experience was seamless.

Empire carpet/floors?
They are expensive. And I found the saleswomen rude.
You can do so much better at a carpet store

Re: Empire carpet/floors?
We had them look at our house about 1.5 years ago and were not very happy... Their consultation was 3 hours long not to mention their price was ridiculous!! We were looking at mainly hard wood, but wanted to carpet 2 bedrooms also...
We ended up going with Lumber liquidators for the wood floors and they were great!!
Good luck!

Glad I found this thread, I was just going to post a similar question. I knew the commercials were too good to be true!

Re: Empire carpet/floors?
We have carpet in our 3rd floor stand up attic which is used another familyroom as well. It is the only carpeting we have.We contacted penny/Marjam, home depot, and other private flooring companies. For the same product, we were able to negotiate Empire down to the competitors. We liked our salesperson, she was not pushy at all. The installation was smooth, quick, and we are happy with the product and service 3 years later. There are positive experiences with them too.

Re: Empire carpet/floors?
so expensive. do some shopping around with private carpet places. get some samples u like from home depot,or a store. go to a private carpet guy and write down the price you want on another business card from a competitor and the other store will beat it. shady, yes... but in the end it saves you money
