My heart is breaking, animals out in this cold
All of the animals that are out there, lost or homeless, out in this cold. I feel such sadness for them because I know that even if I don't see them, I know they are out there. 
My poor dogs freeze just to go in my yard. I can't imagine if they were lost or had to live out in this freezing weather.

I completely understand. I saw a cat outside my job when I was leaving and it brought tears to my eyes.

And I get so angry when people leave their own pets outside!

Ugh, I know. Last night I was walking to a friend's house from the subway and I heard kittens crying in a driveway. I was literally on the ground on my hands and knees with my phone's flashlight trying to find them and call out to them but I couldn't see them anywhere. I would've taken them all home in my coat, even if just for the night to keep them warm.

breaks my heart too
i stumbled upon a great community program and i have posted about it before--it is called 'break the chain'---it goes out into the community to not only educate those about the importance of bringing their dog inside but they also will supply dog houses and hay to keep the dogs warm (cats too) for those people in the community that still have not brought their dogs inside (this is done through donations of money or people actually donating houses they built or no longer need-used ones)
---this program is based on Long Island and one day i will go out and volunteer w/them (that's my goal!!:) but right now i just donate to them!
thank goodness for programs like this---i still cannot believe people keep their pets outside let alone the poor strays that have no choice! :( you want to hear something else that surprised me? this program will also supply cable chains to people who still use actual chains to tie out their dogs!! some of the chains i have seen are HUGE! why do people even bother getting dogs to keep them on chains and in the cold/hot temps....anyway, if you would like more info on the break the chain program, PM me!! :)

I keep seeing a little black one out there in my yard hanging around.. crying .. I hope my cat is sharing her house but I doubt it.. I leave water out there for them but I cant start with all of these cats.. I feel terrible also ..
