Re: Help- Disney resturants!!

1900 park fair, akershus. I would recomend Be Our Guest but for May you can forget it. You won't get an ADR anymore. I couldn't get one last month and am planning to hit the CS lunch instead.

Are you looking for character or just fun. I have some suggestions if you want something else. Ohana, whispering canyon cafe, etc.

We are going the 13th. We booked ours last month and things were booking up. If you haven't made yours for the places you mentioned do so asap or they might be booked. May seems like it might be busier than first anticipated.

Re: Help- Disney resturants!!

I would say Coral Reef at Epcot with a huge table-side aquarium is pretty entertaining and I know you said no more character meals but I have to say my kids all loved Crystal Palace at MK the best when they were 2.

Help- Disney resturants!!

Just wanted to share something - the character meals are generally 2 hours long I feel.

It doesn't matter to some people, but some others rather have more time in the parks.

Just an FYI! :o)

The breakfasts are about an hour - not sure about dinners since we didnt do any. We booked reservations around 8 and got out as the parks opened (we did Hollywood and Vine and Tusker House).

Wow which ones have you gone to that were 2 hours? Does that include waiting? Whenever we have done them we were there around 1 hour.

Coral reef has long wait times btw. When we have eaten there we have waited 30-50 mins to get our table.

Re: Help- Disney resturants!!

Consider Tusker House or Ohana. My DD loves Ohana because of the great character interaction and the Mickey waffles.

Have you thought about Cinderella's Royal Table? If you've never eaten in the castle, that might be a possibility.

Hollywood & Vine I think it was? and Crystal Palace.

Tusker was a little quicker.

Maybe we had bad luck, but I never escaped one in just an hour. I think Crystal Palace took forever. I was ready to get my AARP card by the time I left!

We also had character issues where Agent Oso would forget to visit our table and we'd have to flag down the waitress to have a greeting.

All in all, I find them stressful. Worth it, but stressful. Mouth full of pasta salad, trying to get a picture while trying to get your kid to get an autograph...or running back from the ice cream machine to your table because Handy Manny was headed your wayChat Icon

I have never tried hollywood and vine. I know we waited a while each time for our table at crystal palace but they came quickly once they came around. Actually we got 2 come around twice before we left. I think we were in and out in about 1 hr. They also stayed a decent amount had DD sit in their lap and played with her. Versus chef mickeys where they spent a lot of time with a table of adults signing autographs and taking a million pictures the gets to the kids and one quick picture and the hadler rushed them through the kids tables. Lots of angry parents that day. 5 mins with couple in their 50s and his mother but about 30 sec at the table and the handler was like we have to move on now.

I will say we have waited 30-50 mins for our table at many places with an ADR which is why I always make them early. I would rather wait at 5 than at 630 when everyone is cranky.

Re: Help- Disney resturants!!

I leave 90-120 minutes for any character dining experience. There is often a wait to get in, and the characters coming around to you takes a minimum of 45 minutes. I'd rather build extra time into my plan than have a meal go over and derail my entire day.

Earlier doesn't always help. I had an 8:20 reservation at Crystal Palace (first is as 8:05) and we still had to wait a good 25 minutes for our table.

But there is nothing like walking down Main Street first thing in the morning before the park opens to everyone! Perfect Castle Pictures!

I think we have been very lucky. We waited to get in but the characters always came quick at CP. But a lot of it is timing too. If you get sat right after they pass it can take a long time for them to come back around.
