Day Care Help!

I feel so stupid but how do you find a good day care? DD is 7 months and I am thinking about 1-2 days a week. Is there a state source or a website with reviews or something? Thanks!

Re: Day Care Help!

yes check this website

nys daycare

you can check if a daycare is licensed, what they are licensed for, if they had any violations and what they were and if the violations were corrected.

i would also talk to people around where you work / live for referrals of places they have used and liked. what area are you looking in? also there are different types of daycare facilties so you will have to decide the type that is best for you (in home daycare, larger facilties etc) find a few in the area you are looking for and go and visit them and ask a lot of questions. GL!

Day Care Help!

When I looked at places I just went with my guy feeling. You really do just get a feeling when you walk through places and talk to the staff.

Re: Day Care Help!

Thanks. I live in Levittown and work in the city. We have family helping now but they are not consistent and my job is only so flexible. I just didn't know where to start! I searched old posts because I didn't want to ask a repeat question and a few people mentioned Tutor Time. Holy cow it is expensive! I think 2 days a week was 240 and 1 day was 130. It was the one in Bethpage. Yikes!

My DS goes 3 days a week and we pay 249. Fil watches him on Mondays and mil watches him on Fridays.

At some point we will do full time. We started with just 2 days but we were constantly havin to move things around due to family schedules and for me it was easier to know that at daycare we never had to worry about someone else's schedule.

DS is in kiddie academy in farmingdale.

The price also drops as the child gets older...
