Questions about heat...

First, has anyone converted a bathroom to radiant heat? If so, is it expensive? Our master bath is freezing and we thi k this might be a good way to solve the problem. Can you use any regular ceramic time?

Separately, we have a large playroom over the garage which is attached to the house but is also very cold. Any idea how much it would cost to put that one room on a separate heating zone? It is currently on the same zone as the rest of the 2nd floor but because of its location it's always freezing but the rest of the floor is comfortable.

Ball park figures would be much appreciated. Just want to know if these options would even be on the table for us cost wise.

I'll open up with I don't have an answer to your price question. if I had to guess, I'd say a few thousand.

We have radiant in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We put it in as part of a major remodel which included replacing the boiler, all the plumbing and everything that goes along with that. So we don't have a break out nor do we know what parts in the boiler you would need to add on radiant.

I will say, it is great. well beyond great, it is fantastic. we love it. it feel so nice in the morning on your feet. basically it can be run under any type of tile, as far as I know. Ours is driven by hot water, with PEX lines run under the tile. I know that you can do it with electric, but with rates around here, I didn't think that was a good idea.
