For those of you with physically demanding jobs

When are you gonna stop working?
I am just about 36w and its all starting to catch up to me. I was planning on working till the end but now I'm not so sure. I'm up and down, on the floor, lifting all day while carrying a 6.5 lbs baby in my belly Chat Icon
I just don't think I'm ready to stop working mentally and I feel like its like giving up.
I just dont know what to doChat Icon

I still have tons of time to think about it, but I plan to work as long as my body will allow. Unfortunately I don't have the option of "light duty" and it sounds like you don't either, so we have to deal with it as long as we can!
Its tough when your body and your mind are on two different playing fields!
Good Luck! Chat Icon

Sounds like we have similar jobs. I work with kids and I'm on and off the floor, lifting and on my feet all day. I can't really use my twin pregnancy as a comparison. My dr made me stop working at 31 weeks ish. I felt like crap compared to this pregnancy. My plan is to work till the end. My alternative of being home with 2 two year olds isn't any less physical so I figure I nights as well get paid. Right now I am 31 weeks and it feels like it would be possible. But I am realistic that things may change and I may have to stop or at least slow down a bit.

I work with kids too! And like you i have 2 little ones at home so im afraid being home with them is going to drive me crazy!
I just don't know what to do I want to hold out so bad but at night when I sit down it is nearly impossible to get up with the pain and soreness. My DH wants me to stop so bad but I'm just so torn.

I walk about a mile to my classroom from the parking lot and then a mile back. I have to rearrange desks all the time because when I get into the room, it's a nightmare. I am on my feet most of the day, constantly walking around the classroom. I'm 39 weeks...gonna work up until (and including) my due date next Monday!!

I work with kids also, and am hoping to stay until the end to maximize time home with the baby, but honestly who knows. Especially after reading this thread.
