Anyone Homeowners Insurance Go UP?
Just curious? We live in an area that sustained no damage during the hurricane. I am expecting it to go up though once I renew. Anyone renew recently? Was it the same? More?

We closed on our house right after the hurricane and we ended up paying $300 more than our original quote right before it happened. But there was some damage in our area

Ours was renewed about a week before the hurricane -- no change. But our area was not affected so I can't imagine that it will increase by much, if at all, next year.

Mine goes up every year, and every year I have to try to fight with them to lower it somewhat.

Chances are rates will go up even if you weren't in a bad area. After Irene rates went up and I expect the same from sandy. Insurance companies raise rates across the board to make up for others. Plus we are now all in a risky area even if you personally weren't damaged

I figured it would go up. Sucks but what can you do? I am seeing it's going to be approx 200 bucks. I could always shop around.
