Mine has only lasted a few seconds. Try doing some stretching. It happened in my calf and i just bent my knee a lot of rotated my ankle to get the muscles moving. Its only happened once...

I've heard eating bananas helps with this!

Re: charlie horse!
eating bananas, sweet potatoes or even avocado helps (potassium!). Or, you can try taking some magnesium vitamins. My mom gets bad leg cramps in the middle of the night, I just bought her some concoction from the local health food store, it's a drink mixture of garlic, apple cider vinegar and something else.....it seems all natural so most likely safe for pregnant women to take, sorry I don't remember the name of it! I think 1 spoonful before bed is supposed to help.

Best way to relieve a charlie horse quickly... place your bare foot on a cold tile floor. Work every time!!!

Re: charlie horse!
That happened to me a lot in the end of my 2nd trimester. Try flexing your foot if you can take it or just have your husband massage it out, which works the best. Leaving it in for 5 minutes is just tearing the muscle.

Yes! This happened to me. The first time I was crying I was in so much pain. DH massaged it when it happened and that made it feel better.
