Who recommended using a fluffy brush for foundation.....
You don't know this, but you and I are new BFF's!!!
I don't remember who recommended the other day, but HOLY COW, my foundation looks AMAZING today. I have still be working with the Revlon Colorstay bc I am trying to love it but the coverage wasnt so hot for my redness issue.
So today, I used my Arbonne Primer (AMAZING BTW), then my Benefit Boi-ing Concealer and the only thing I did differently was instead of using a sponge, my fingers or a foundation brush, I used a big fluffy brush (also Arbonne). The kind you would normally use for loose powder. I stippled it on my face and then went crazy blending with it. No streaks AT all, coverage was awesome, and the application was flawless.
We are SO besties right now.

I know! This was my reaction when I read it on here too....I was like "ooookkkkk, crazy lady". I was looking at my unused fluffy brush this morning and was all, "ahhh, what the hell" and then the clouds parted.

I just recently started using a brush, too, and whoa! What a difference. My foundation never looked great after applying it with a sponge. Sales lady at Sephora said sponges don't work because a sponge absorbs. Makes sense!

Wait, so you put the liquid foundation on your face, then use a brush to 'swirl' it on? I use my fingers usually and then a sponge to smooth everything out.
I've got to try this now.

I put it on the back of my hand, and then stippled it on, the blended it both steps with the fluffy brush.

Re: Who recommended using a fluffy brush for foundation.....
I just watched one of those "tutourials" yesterday for the first time and the woman giving it did this. on the top of her hand she squirted the foundation and and swilred it with a large fluffy brush and just kept circling it on her face. I have yet to try it as I am off fooundation for a week but now I will.
she recommended Shu Umera brushes which are difficult to find and pricey

Hmmm verrry interesting..........
So just curious but don't you waste a whole lot of foundation in the brush? I'd imagine that you have to wash the brush immediately after or no? This all just sounds so messy to me....

I did it over the weekend, nothing was on my brush afterwards. I put foundation on my face in little dots like I normally would, but instead of using my fingers to blend, I used the brush. I found that after using the brush, I needed to put more on my face bc it didn't blend as well as using my fingers.
So, I wound up using more foundation than usual. So, it didn't really work for me.

I also find that whenever I use a brush to apply foundation I get horrible coverage and have to keep using more. I feel I have much more contol and coverage with my fingers

You have to do it as stared above for it to work well. If you put the foundation on your face and just blend you'll have this issue. Put a small amount in the back if your hand and dip the brush in. The press the brush lightly onto your face in a dotting motion. Look up stipple on you tube. Great tutorials and really works well.
