Was anyone else super nervous their first month officially trying?
It's almost like I can't decide if I REALLY want a bfp this month or if I kinda need a couple months to ease into it....does anyone know what I mean?
I KNOW I want a baby, sooner rather than later, but I also know you never really feel 100% ready so I guess I'm just nervous?
Can anyone commiserate?

I wasn't really nervous, but I was 100% convinced that it wouldn't happen that month. Maybe that's why I wasn't nervous?
Well, we ended up getting our BFP the first month and were totally shocked!

Its a HUGE change so I think it's totally normal! My first month, I was excited but also very nervous and a ton of what-ifs kept popping in my head. For me, it's been almost a year of TTC so I want my BFP already!! Hang in there and wishing you a ton of

DH more than me but we both were excited to start because we talked about it for six months prior.

YES. We kept postponing it or coming up with excuses and it actually took me a semi-drunk night to say "ok lets do this!"... And that's when I got pregnant!
I freaked out at first knowing everything in my life was going to change, but then I realized I was READY and excited for everything to change!
Unfortunately I miscarried just as I came to that realization, But now I'm ALL IN! Having a baby and being a mom is basically the only thing I think about and what I want more than anything right now.
You just gotta go for it! No one is 100% ready at first but you'll get there :)

The first few months were ok because we were just NOT BEING CAREFUL but once I started with the opks I started to freak. Nothing a good stiff cocktail couldn't fix

Re: Was anyone else super nervous their first month officially trying?
YES!! This is how I feel every time lol. I know that I want to have a baby... but DH was really the one who started to put the wheels into motion with baby fever and everything. But I'm still very nervous about it all.
This will be our third official cycle and one of my best friends just confessed that she is preggers with #2 and I definitely had jealousy pangs... but then I felt like a freak because I wasn't so much jealous that she was pg and I'm not, it was more like "I want to be next one to share that news".
The whole thing is such a complete unknown but st the same time I'm really excited that this time in our lives is coming... good luck and just know if you ever need to chat, I'm in your shoes!

You might say you don't mind if it takes a few months .... but trust me .... if the first month isn't the one that works, you will grow impatient REAL fast!
If you don't feel ready yet, what's the hurry?

It's not that I don't feel ready, because every time I think of waiting a bit longer every fiber of my being SCREAMS no, so I know I'm ready. I'm just nervous because we have been talking about it for months and now it's actually here and time to just jump in and do it. And that's nerve wracking!
But you're right, if it doesn't happen right away I will totally become super impatient fast!!!

We were so nervous!!! Even if you're 100% ready it is still a BIG deal.
Fortunately, even if you get a BFP right away ( ) you still have another 9 months to fully prepare!

Re: Was anyone else super nervous their first month officially trying?
Not really. We had one slip and then decided to just go for it. But now I'm on month 8 with one chemical under my belt and I'm getting tired of the struggle.
Good luck...whenever it happens

I hear you, that's one of the reasons we want to start. Maybe we'll be lucky and blessed and it will happen quickly, but ANYTHING can happen and with my complicated medical history we definitely feel it is the right time to start.
Thanks everyone! I guess all big decisions are nerve wracking no matter how much you want it. Glad I'm not totally alone!

Re: Was anyone else super nervous their first month officially trying?
I was so nervous. Even after getting the BFP, I was so worried and nervous. After DH and I had the talk, I needed a month or two to let it sink in before we "tried". We decided to wing it one month before we actually tried, and the first month we tried, I got AF sooner than expected. I was devstated but then I got pregnant the next cycle (2nd time).
It takes a while to sink.. I still look at DD sometimes and get nervous

This was me when we first started. I was too nervous to even add my name to the TTC list.

Re: Was anyone else super nervous their first month officially trying?
Yes... the first month I lost a lot of sleep and everytime I thought about us really trying my heart would start to palputate. Not sure if it was excitement, nervousness, anxiety, or what, but by month 2-3 It all went away.
