"Must Sees" in Philly

DH and I just booked our little trip there. What are your favorite historical/cultural attractions, restaurants, etc.?

We love haunted history and good food...not really into shopping though.

The last time I went to Phili (2010) I ate at Jack's Firehouse and it was excellent. We also went to the Phili art museum around the corner and enjoyed that as well.

Definitely do a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary if you like haunted history.

Mutter Museum...its freaky!

Sam's Morning Glory Diner. Waited an hour in the rain to get in for brunch - I hate waiting long for a restaurant - no kidding, would do it again in a heartbeat. I'd wait two hours. They make their own ketchup. Their french toast has mangos. Their coffee is something I still rave about, three years later.

Seriously, I would drive to Philly for a day just to eat there.

when we went to philly we went to independence hall (liberty bell), the art museum to see the rocky statue, walked by the LOVE monument, walked by chinatown, and went to redding terminal market (and ate there at dinicks since we saw it on man vs food.) oddly enough we did not have cheese steak while we were there! we only went for the day so we didn't have too much time to do everything.

Other than the usual history stuff, we did a walking "Ghost Tour" at night and it was really interesting!

We did all the above, plus the zoo was great and the Eastern State Jail mentioned above was amazing to see!!!

We did have cheesestakes though and they were GREAT!

DH & I went last summer for a weekend. We didnt see a lot because it was closed :( We ended up eating most meals at the terminal. Really good food. We tried both cheesesteaks, good. Bring cash.
