ZENO - product RAVE!
a while back someone had recommended this when i asked about treating cystic acne.
i cannot thank that person enough!
i have to say that i do not suffer from chronic cystic acne. my skin is mostly good...but on occasion, usually near my period, i would get these stubborn cysts that would HURT and grow until i got them injected.
the zeno has saved me a trip to the derm since i bought it! its costs like 40 bucks... and they are battery operated but actually die after 80 uses. i just got 2 for 1 at cvs the other day.
it paid for itself the first 2 uses because i was paying 20 bucks a pop for an injection.
FYI, it is NOT medication, it is just direct heat to the problem area. it kills the bacteria and shrinks the inflammation. i used it three times on the same spot the first time i bought it (over the course of about 12 hours) and it brought it to a head, which is unheard of with cysts.
so i just wanted to share because it really has helped me and i dont panic or want to cry (i know, dramatic lol) when i feel that small bump forming.

So funny you posted this. I have one and I never even tried it. Do you think it would work well on ingrown hair bumps?

I've used this before and it's AMAZING! I have rosacea with with acne like bumps and this kills them. Fantastic product!

It really is an amazing product! I asked my derm and he said it really doesn't make sense how it works (the heat is not hot enough to kill bacteria) but it does, so he recommends it to patients in spite of the  factor

Nope. It juts feels warm. Your skin will be a bit red after using it but the redness goes down after 20 min or so.

Awesome. Thanks! Going tonite to buy one. I have a pimple on my face that is so large if it doesnt go away soon Im going to hafta name it lol

Thank you for posting!!! I don't have cystic acne but I have very sensitive skin and occasionally suffer from the sporadic cyctic pimple and the things literally take WEEKS to go away. I am definitely going to be buying this!!!!!

I have it and it works great on my regular acne but it really hasn't helped with my cystic acne. Still have to go get those injected.

i start it the second i feel that bump forming and combine it with using salicylic acid.
i also get them randomly though, not all the time.

i only use it if i feel a bump starting. i pretty much know when its going to be an under the skin, cyst-like pimple.
if you mean how often do you use it ON the pimple, i use it sometimes twice in a row, twice a day until its clearly going away.

While I dont want to alarm anyone, I thought about buying this product. Then I wondered, can such a high heat to one spot somehow change the DNA of the cells (like a sunburn) and predispose you to skin cancer? I have no clue if this CAN happen, but it is what crossed my mind when I considered buying this product. Although I could seriously use it for my acne, I am worried about any unknown long term risks.
Anyone know if any harm can come from using it?

i dont know the answer to that.
but i can say its not THAT high of heat. just heat directed at one spot. you will turn red for a bit after but it doesnt burn your skin.

It's not UV rays and I don't think it can be any more harmful than just being someplcae where it is too hot, or doing hot yoga, being in a heated room, etc. I did use & now I have a scar in that spot. Do not use it for a second cycle on the same day. That is what I did. I tend to have darkened scars or keloids but the one where I used Zeno is very bad. I would use it again but sparingly. I just wanted to zap the crap out of the thing that I had. Bad move!

I have no real way of knowing what caused that scar, so, no. It got very red after ZENO and I just feel that I should have followed directions & used it once & waited for the results. I used it again 10 seconds later!
