Re: cereal in bottle
You don't put cereal in a bottle unless your dr tells you too. And then they will tell you how much. It only helps reflux babies and it doesn't help a baby sleep any better. It is a choking hazard...

I agree that it doesn't help with sleep. After MUCH pushing from ILs, I have DD cereal in her bottle at night on 2 occasions. No difference.

thanks! my doc said I could put some in her night time bottle if she wasnt sleeping well. I just couldnt remember how much to how many oz. I put 1 tsp to 6oz. Maybe it wasn't enough, because it didn't help her sleep longer at all

Re: cereal in bottle
It is a myth that it makes them sleep longer.. My son was getting it in his bottles from 4 weeks old for his reflux and he still woke up every 2-3 hours at night until he was 4 months old.. It is to help with reflux babies and spitting up.

cereal in bottle
It never helped my DD sleep longer, but it helped her reflux a bit. Have you tried giving her more then 6oz for her last bottle or two? My DS used to take more at night then during the day when he started sleeping longer stretches.

i will try that... she falls aslepp on such little amounts, usually less than 6...then wakes up like an hour later to finish the rest. But the worst is that shes been waking up around 1am, 4am, and then every hour from 5:30 until 8 !! I am going to lose my mind!! I am so tired and I don't know what to do to help this situation !!
ETA- she is 5 1/2 months old. This has been going on for the past week or so with the waking up every hour. She STTN until 3 months old. We were displaced because of Sandy for 2 months and had to sleep in the PNP. She is still sleeping in the PNP because our place is not finished yet. That was the start of her waking up 2x per night. I could totally understand the environment and bed change in the beginning, but now this every hour thing is just out of control!

It could be a growth spurt or teething...

Have you tried a faster nipple i switched when ds woyld start doing what you described, falling asleep then waking back up. It was like he got tired from sucking!! You could also spoon feed her some cereal, imo its better then the bottle because there's less of a choking hazzard then. She could definitely be going through a growth spurt though.
I hope everything gets back to normal for you guys soon!!
