Speech question
My DS has a bunch of words I haven't recently counted how many, but it's over 30-40. Sometimes he calls something by the wrong name, for instance he was holding an airplane puzzle piece and called it "animal." I guess he realized that it wasn't an animal and then started saying "airplane" "airplane."
Then on occasion he will call people the wrong name, but quickly say the right name.
Is this normal? He's 21 months and 19 corrected.
Thank you!

Re: Speech question
i'm a speech therapist,. I can't say for sure without actually seeing him... BUT i would say that sounds pretty normal for his age. Hes learning so many new words right now, and it sounds like hes just getting some of his new words mixed up a little bit. I think its a really good sign that he corrects himself and uses the right word on his own.

Yes, he's been adding a lot of new words to his vocabulary lately, so I thought maybe he could be getting a little confused. He mostly gets its right, but he makes a slip up here and there and will correct himself for the most part. Like, he'll call his grandpa dada, but will then correct to grandpa without being told.
