update** CF carrier-- so worried
My dr. called me today & said I tested positive for the cystic fibrosis gene. Now DH has to go for bloodwork on Wed to see if he's a carrier too. I'm so terrified & I can't relax! I have to wait 1-2 wks to find out the result, which feels like a lifetime. Next Fri is my NT scan & I'm hoping his results will be in by then so we can know. I'm just praying it will all work out & that he's not a carrier I'm so nervous!
UPDATE: Yesterday the doctor called & DH is NOT a carrier!! What a relief! Thanks everyone for your good wishes! Also had NT scan today & it went great, the baby was being lazy so the sono tech kept tapping on my belly to wake it up & get it to move to the right positions! Also the dr. said the measurements were really good, now just waiting for bloodwork but he said everything seems good so far. I got some great pictures

Re: CF carrier-- so worried
I have gone though a similar situation with both of my pregnancies. With my first one I tested as a carrier of SMA. I was beyond terrified for two weeks and DH wound up testing negative. With this pregnancy I tested as a carrier of some neurological disorder that m OB had to look up because she had never even heard of it. I didn't stress this time because I knew there was nothing I could do. Well, the doctor just called and DH tested negative. Thank goodness for his good genes. I'm sure everything will be fine. Try to relax and not get too caught up in it. And don't google it! I did that with my first pregnancy and drove myself nuts!,,,

I went through the same thing with my first pregnancy. I am the carrier, DH had to get tested. Turns out he is not. This is so so common! I know it's easier said then done but try not to worry. I'm sure it will be ok!

If I'm correct, there is a very slim chance that your DH would Also be a carrier - not that you don't have every right to be concerned. I'm just saying the odds are in your favor. Try to stay positive.

Great news. For me, it was the opposite. I am NOT a carrier, but DH is and we didn't know until after the baby was born. She had to go for a sweat test at 8 weeks which was NOTHING. The pediatrician kept assuring us that she will just be a carrier and not have the disease, but the test is required by the state.
