Uterine tightening
I am 19 weeks 4 days. The past few tights when laying down I have had tightening in my uterus. It gets rock hard and stays that way for 30-45 seconds. This occurs maybe 2 or 3 times in a 30 min period. Could this be braxton-hicks? I thought I may be too early for that. I felt it again this morning while laying down. Should I call the doctor? I have no cramping or bleeding, but I have been a bit out of breath today...

Re: Uterine tightening
Sounds like them. I started getting them around 17 weeks. You shouldn't have more than 4 in an hour. Make sure to drink a lot of water.

Re: Uterine tightening
I have been having the same thing very low down. Started for me at 30 weeks with pg but earlier when I was pg with DD (baby #2). It's Braxton hicks contractions...I told my doc about it and that is what he said it was.

Uterine tightening
those are BH contractions, make sure you're drinking lots of water and lay down when it happens.

Re: Uterine tightening
It's Braxton Hicks and it's totally normal. Mine started around then, too, though I haven't had them in quite a while now. Drink a lot of water. And when the contraction starts, just change positions (ie: if you're standing, sit or lie down if you're lying down, stand up and walk around).

Re: Uterine tightening
totally normal...I had them throughout my last pregnancy and have started getting them with this one (I'm 19 weeks.) I tend to get them when I'm dehydrated.
