About how long after giving birth did you lose all the water weight? At what point did you consider it your "starting point" if you will of what you'd need to work off with diet/exercise?

I'm just curious, not stressing or anything. I thought I gained a lot (about 40 lbs) but I realized I gained a LOT more water than I realized. My legs look so skinny now, I thought it was fat on my thighs, LOL. I've lost 30 pounds in the last week, just wondering about how much more might fall off?

I was thinking it would take at least 2 weeks to lose some of the water, etc. but now I'm thinking there can't be much more?

I'm not sure how much water weight I gained; but I was up almost about 45+ lbs at the end of my pregnancy! 12 days post partum and I'm down 26lbs already! Most of which I assume was fluid. I'm EBF so not sure if that's helping speed things up?

I figured the next week or 2 I'd level off with the fluid loss and then that will be the starting point for the weight loss I'll have to work at.

Although my sister said she dropped all her pregnancy weight breastfeeding her son! She never dieted or went to the gym; the weight just fell off her!

I think within a couple days, maybe 2 or 3, all the swelling was gone. The bulk of it was gone when I woke up the next morning.

I gained 65 lbs total with my DD.......,..the crazy part, I gained a ridiculous amount of water weight at the end, about 40lbs of the 65. It was insane.

I can home from the hospital having lost no weight. Within a few days I started getting crazy night sweats and within about two weeks of having my DD I lost ALL 65 lbs and was down to my pre pregnancy weight. I couldn't believe how fast it flew off but it was mostly all water weight and I sweat buckets every night so it just all disappeared.

good question, I'm really not sure, all I know is that I gained 37 lbs, lost around 28 first 10 days and then the rest of it within days. same thing with my first. One thing I remember is when I had DD they wanted to weight me right before I was discharged and I had lost close to 25 lbs in 3.5 days, I remember a nurse saying that it was the baby, fluid and water.

I gained 40 lbs during my pregnancy. I lost the first 30 by my 5 week appt. At that point I think I was left with what needed to be worked off. The last 10 has been slow to come off. I am 4 months pp and have 5 lbs to go. I have been going to the gym and watching what I eat.

I gained even more than you (60lbs) and within the first two weeks I lost 30lbs easily so I'm assuming that was the water weight. It's taken me another 4 weeks to lose 10lbs. I still have another 20 to go!
