Don't know if I want to test
Part of me is dying to know and I am thinking the trigger Is out of my system(I am 11DPIUI) but the other part thinks its a BFN so why bother? I know that sounds horrible and negative but I can't help but think how can this work on the first try? Especially when we didn't have the greatest of samples to work with. Am I just being a negative Nellie? Should I test or wait for my blood test on Sat? Oh I forgot to mention I am on Progesterone so I won't get AF which is why I need the blood test. What should I do?? Why am I feeling this way? Anyone else experience this before?

If it were me, I'd test. I always would rather know than wonder. At 13dpt, the trigger is definitely out of your system, so any test should be accurate - unless it's just too early.
To give you some hope - on my 3rd IUI I was positive it failed. I had had a bad day at work and asked DH to open a bottle of wine for me. Right before I was going to take a drink, I decided to take a test at only 9dpiui....and a really light line appeared. I figured it was the trigger but decided not to have that drink. Now it's 8 months later and I'm 5 weeks away from delivering that really light line! My point is - you never know if it will work, so try to be hopeful!

i know your scared, and dont want to be disappointed. I dont blame you.
However, just from my experience, twice when i thought i wasnt pregnant, and i tested. i was. I would go for it!!!

Thanks ladies! I will try to be more positive. I did drink on New Years since I am convinced this is a bust lol. Oh well!

i was always more scared than excited to test. you def can test now - its been long enough that you shouldn't see the trigger. IUI can totally work on the first try. your chances are no better on the second or third try than they are on the first (after the third cycle the chances go down). but more people who will conceive with IUI conceive within the first 3 cycles so theres no reason to expect failure. good luck!

I've never understood why chances start decreasing after the 3rd IUI. My RE told me the same thing.
I actually got pregnant with my 6th IUI...it was a chemical, but...technically the IUI worked! It's my body that sucks! LOL

it decreases only because statistically speaking a vast majority get pregnant within the first three. those that go on to do more than three have a lower percentage of success with IUI and may move on to IVF. so basically stats wise there are less people doing more than three to gather data - and there are less people successful in that group, which makes the statistics lower of success after 3.
that being said, many many people do get pregnant on 4th, 5th, 8th....etc... theres nothing that says it WON'T work, just odds are lower statistically.

This is actually incorrect and a pretty big misnomer. Mathematically, your chances of getting pregnant from an IUI are statistically the same whether it's your 1st or 4th IUI - about 20% each time. However, if IUIs will work for you, they should work within your first 4 times if timing is correct every time. Your RE will learn more about you as each cycle goes on and can medicate you more effectively. But there is statistically no reason that your 3rd IUI is more likely to work than your first.

I did not. I think I am scared to get a BFN twice. Since my RE is going to make me come in tomorrow I figured I would just wait. I will post my results either way tomorrow afternoon.
