why do i want a second baby?

if i can hardly ever keep my eyes open, i am cranky, i still have post partum high blood pressure, we dont have alot of money, still have no home since sandy, and i am fat?


someone tell me to get rid of this overwhelming desire i have had lately?????? talk some sense into me!!! (btw it wont really happen bc i had to do ivf and unless we go that route its virtually impossible...but my brain keeps thinking get pregnant!!!)


thanks....maybe it was all the drugs i took last night and i must be hallucinating thinking about another little one ( um jking btw!! lol) happy new years !!!

I'm pg with my first, we just bought a house, we agreed one and done and I'm already thinking about the 2nd one. I feel ya.

Because despite all that, children are the most amazing things ever! They are worth the pregnancy, delivery and sleepless nights! DD was 14 months when I got pregnant with #2, and I am so ready for another baby. I love DD so much and can't wait to give her a sibling!

Because babies are addictive! My 2nd DD just turned one and I think every day how much I will miss being a mama to babies. I'm trying to savor every babylicious second this time around, just in case it's my last.

I agree with the previous poster, children are a blessing and amazing and once you have one you can't imagine life without them. We finally decided to stop at 4 since we can't afford anymore and have no room(not that we can afford 4 either, but we make it work )
But it we had the room and could afford it I would love to have a house full of kids. They are the joy to my life and make me smile each and every day!

since the moment i had my DD i constantly think about #2. literally as soon as i delivered at 33w all i could think about was how I needed a "normal" birth experience to heal everything that had just happened. on the other end my DH is completely petrified of something like that happening again and started talking about DD being an only child.

now that im 19m post partum i still think about #2 all the time. part of me cant imagine another baby taking the attention away from DD, and I can't imagine doing the newborn thing all over again. but theres a big part of me that knows in time i will get over those things and have another baby (assuming my body cooperates). im now starting to understand people who have two and have trouble conceiving the third and say that they feel something is missing.

anyway i think its totally normal to think about the next one theoretically. you're not making any commitment to that now. when and if the time is right you can make real decisions about the future but for now theres nothing wrong with thinking about it and considering it. IMO unless you were sure from the get go - once you understand what having a child is really like, it takes time and guts to gear yourself up for the life change that will occur with the next one.

When I had my DD I had no desire to have another , neither did DH and we thought we were done. Then 4 yrs later we decided to have one more because we both wanted , now DS is not even 4 months and we a already talking about one more, lol. Many times when I hold him or nurse him I think to myself how fast he is growing and I want another baby. Just like you I have that overwhelming feeling of wanting to be pregnant and have a baby. DH also has mentioned few times that he wishes we could have another.
Unfortunetely we can't , at least not for a while . first because I had a CS and have to wait at least 2 yrs, second because we can't really afford one more (comfortably) and because of my age , I'm almost 33 .
Also because I have no help, 0 -DH works long days and some weekends too- so it's all on me , kids and everything else, so I don't know how I could ever handle 3 kids

Totally understand. For me, something about DD turning 8 months has me sooo missing her being a baby. It really seems like she's getting to be more of a toddler than a baby which makes me so sad. Despite the fact that she's cranky and teething at the moment and hasn't sttn since she was 3 months, she truly is a little miracle and I love every moment. I didn't use fertility treatments, but it took 14 months to conceive DD so part of me think we should throw caution to the wind and maybe be happily shocked if it happened quickly (especially since I'm still nursing and AF hasn't returned yet). DH and I were actually just discussing this last night.

Oh, and I held a mushy little 2 months old the other day and can't get that feeling out of my head! DD wore a harness for hip displaysia so she was an adorable little bundle of pink velcro. I definitely missed the experience of her being mushy and soft. Can't wait for that with #2!

For the longest time I wasn't sure I wanted kids and once I was ready to TTC I thought I'd only want one. DD is 3 months now and I know I want another. She is just so amazing and I love watching her grow and learn and smile! I went from thinking I'd be one and done to now wanting 2 or 3!! Children are blessings and family is everything to me. We actually had a little "scare" in december and part of me was upset when I was sure I wasn't pg.

Why dont you come over and take care of my screaming newborns? Maybe that will satisfy your craving?
