Re: How many bottles did you register for?
I started with Born Free...........(4) 4oz bottles and (6) 8oz bottles but quickly switched over to the Playtex Drop Ins which IMO are hands down the BEST! LOVED them. No clean-up, you can get ALL the air out, no fuss.
Be wary of Dr. Browns............while everyone I know liked the bottles they also could NOT stand the 10,000 parts when it came to cleaning them. Pain in the butt.

i think the born free packs that i got back when my dd#1 was born were in packs of three so i got three packs so that was 9 bottles total...9 of the 5oz and 9 of the 8oz.....i used the same ones for my dd#2 because they were only 22 months apart so i just bought new nipples....but im going to be buying new ones for this lo .....i really liked born free so ill be using them again and will most likely buying the same amount of them

I got 6 4oz and 6 8oz of the Dr. Browns and then the level 2 and 3 nipples as well as the extra pieces. They're probably going to be a PITA but I've heard good things about babies liking them.

I register for avent Naturals and dr. Browns. I only got avent ones for my shower. I soon switched to dr. Browns she was gassy. She seems to be feeing much better with the dr. Browns but all babie are different. Anyway you will prob need just a few of the 4 oz bottles and prob 6 or 8 of the large size

questions (sorry to hijack) how often to you wash the actual drop in BOTTLE? we are using drop ins this time (used tommee tippee with my son). I assume often but not every use?

How many bottles did you register for?
I started with vent aire for DS and switched to Dr browns after about a month because he did better on them. I would say to have at least 4-6 little ones and big ones on hand. When you need more in the beginning ypu can always use the bigger ones if you have to.
Also, there are only two extra parts to clean when using the Dr brown's bottles. Yes they have the little holes that you have to use the small brushes in, but I never really understood the complaints about them. I would have a tupperware tub of soapy water in my sink and when DS would finish a bottle I would rinse off the nipple, ring and two extra pieces (the blue straw and rubber piece) and stick them in the soapy water to soak. I would rinse out the bottle as well. Then wash them thoroughly when I had to.

How many bottles did you register for?
We did 5-4oz Avent and 6-5oz Born Free. I read that babies can be fussy with bottles so we decided we are going to try out the most recommended and go from there.

I washed them everyday with soap and water, only took a minute.

Re: How many bottles did you register for?
I wouldn't register for too many and I'd stay away from the gift packs. You may try 2 or 3 different bottles. I love the playtex vent aire bottles. They aren't expensive. I recommended registering for the 3 pack of the small bottles (whichever brand you choose) and seeing how you like them before you stock up.

Re: How many bottles did you register for?
If you do dr browns register for at least 8. 1 per daily feeding. That way you only need to wash once a day. We have a combo of 4 and 8 oz. we use the 8 oz now although they eat less than 4 because we need 1 per feeding times 2.

Re: How many bottles did you register for?
i was told by some other moms not to register for any bc you dont know which bottles your baby will or wont like so you may end up trying a few. plus i already got a free sample pack from avent (family works for an OB office and got me some bottles and formula) so i am going to try those first
