I have tried every bottle - Dr. Browns, Avent, Vent Aire, Playtex Dropins, etc. - and I have not found any difference in how my child drinks, gets gas, etc. However people do have favorites and you can probably find many reviews by doing a search.

I will say to register for as many bottles as you have room! They are expensive and you will NOT want to have to wash bottles once or twice per day, especially in the beginning where the baby drinks every few hours and you will be sleep deprived! I have about 10 bottles and wish I had 20!

Every kid and every mom likes different bottles and different nipples. I say register for a few different kinds. Once you find one the baby likes, get more of those.

But, keep them all. After some time, the baby might like a different kind.

The mistake I made was registering for a bunch of the same kind. Turned out they leaked and DD didn't like them very much. Total waste.

I would register a few 2/3 packs of whatever it is that you want and only open one box. This way you can return the rest if DC doesn't take to them well.
