Re: Confused
What kind of test is this? A double line where you have to read it yourself? Or a digital where it's a clear yes/no? Also, when you got the + at CD10, did you continue testing every day or did you just try again on CD17?
There's only 3 reasons you'll ever get 2 positives in a month: you have PCOS and OPKs just are not accurate for you; or your body tried to O, did not and is now surging to try a second time. The second is highly uncommon. And the final reason is that you're already pregnant.
Is there any chance you read the test wrong? Or you're already pg? How many days is your cycle normally?

Re: Confused
I don't have an answer, but the same thing happened to me this month! I was using the Clearblue easy digital opks and I got a positive on CD 8 and again on CD14.

technically reasons 1 & 2 can be the same thing. with PCOS OPKs aren't accurate because you can have elevated LH at random times throughout the cycle. the LH spikes may or may not be followed by ovulation. so its possible to get a spike at CD10, not ovulate, then get another spike at CD17 and ovulate (or not ovulate). but that is def only common with PCOS. i had several cycles like that. i think you need to go back to temping or see an RE or at the very least an OB that will monitor your cycle more closely to confirm ovulation.
and yes, take an HPT just to be sure

True, but you can have the 2nd reason (surging but not Oing and then surging again) without having PCOS. Could just be a flukey month.

Confused
As far as I know I do not have PCOS ... My sister does though so I could have it and not know..... Back story I got pregnant first go round in may and MC at 11 weeks so I know I do ovulate (or at least I did that month)
As for the tests it is the double strip ones I tested on CD 10 got the 2lines and stopped testing because the paper said once you get a postive you will O in 24-48 hours
Thank you for all your help ... This is try number 4 since the MC and D and C If I am not pregnant this cycle I will test everyday next cycle and see what happens .... May start on CD8 next time

I doubt they were both positive. Chances are it was close to positive, but not positive yet. It's often hard to read the double line tests. I'd suggest investing in a box of digital OPKs. They are more expensive, so you can use the lines until you think you have a +. Then use the digital to confirm.

Re: Confused ** update even more confused
Ok..on CD 10 was the test line the same color or darker than the control? Just checking.
And you said you have a faint line on CD 21 but that is totally normal. OPK's always register some sort of line for most people at different times...its normal to have LH in your body constantly, its when it spikes before ovulation that you get a very dark second line.
I have a feeling you didn't get a true positive on CD 10...may have been a few days later but you never know.

I don't remember how dark they were ... I am thinking cd 10 was dark enough for me to not test again .... Today was light but not like squint and I can see it light ... Like hello I am a second line but not so dark
I think next month I will invest in clear blue opk .... This is what happens when I try to save money
Kind of just want to take a pregnancy test and see what it says but I am too lazy to go to the drug store right now LOL

Seriously.. get the CBE digital opk with the smiley. It is very cut and dry and no guessing in between.

Your OPK may always have a light line. It's only when the test line is darker than the control line that it's actually positive. That's why I'm thinking you should use digitals next month because it's not always easy to read the line OPKs.

a light line is meaningless on an OPK. it is completely within reason to get a light line at nearly any point since there can always be traces of LH. as long as its not positive again assume you ovulated the last time you saw a positive.
