shower rsvp
my shower rsvp deadline is rapidly approaching...and we have about 22 people that are yet to respond 
its at a restaurant, so we do need to give our count literally 2 days after the rsvp deadline. do i just count all 22 people as no's? or do i have my mother and DH make calls to get responses from people? they would of course wait until the day after the deadline to ask people.
there are about 5 or so that we can assume are no bc they live out of state (but come on people show a little courtesy and respond), but that still leaves us with about 15 people.
i just want to add (vent)....one of the non-responders is my MIL! i cant really say i am surprised since she has no manners but how frustrating! the proper thing would have been for her to respond to my mom immediately and even maybe offer up some help?!?!? nope heaven forbid she stopped being selfish for a moment - ughhhh

i find this so obnoxious. I wouldnt count them as no's as much as i agree with that idea... you will end up with a huge headache that day when the majority of them show up.
Call email, text... whatever it is the day the RSVPs are due...

I asked before RSVP in a fb message to a few people before the rsvp date. Just tell them you need a head count. And I'd think mil just didnt RSVP because she assumes you know she's coming.

if my MIL was normal, i would say you are right...but when DH told her the date (before the invites went out) her response was "i think that will be ok, ill have to check"...and then never gave him a definitive answer! we dont have a good relationship with her, so we cannot assume anything....

I am having the same issue right now .. I have 4 days till my RSVP date and I also have 22 people that didnt respond! I will wait till the day after and then depending on which side of the family it is on I will ask my MIL or grandmother or step-mother to ask their relatives if they are coming or not! and if it is a friend I will text them!

We had a similar issue and my mom and sister had to get in touch with about 11 people or so. Most of them were yesses who just figured we would "know" they were coming. It's so annoying.
