Is 3 and a half too young to bowl?
My DS has been asking me to go bowling and I admit I haven't been bowling in a long time. Is 3.5 too young? If we go, will they put the bumpers up for us if we request them? Can he just wear his sneakers? Any BTDT moms that can share info I would really appreciate it!

No not too young at all. they put the bumpers up, AJ wears her own sneakers and they have that little ramp thing that you just put the ball on and they push down the slide onto the lane. AJ loves it. We started her at 3.5 I will say though, one game was enough. After that she got bored and would play with the air coming out of the machine, look for the returning ball, or danced in the lights.
We get two free kid games every day all summer long with the various programs.

We just took our DS at 20 months and he loved it. Not too young at all.

my kids have been bowing since 2. they love it! now at 4 1/2 DD1 won't let me get up from the chairs....she gets a ball, holds it like an adult and swings it (though it goes so slowly)!

Not at all. DS first went bowling for his cousins bday at 2 and loved it so much we had a bowling party for his 3rd bday. They put up the bumpers, give a light ball, and a ramp they can aim and push the ball down. He loves it!

Yes this! The ramp is actually for handicapped people and some bowling alleys don't have them. I took my son over the summer, who was 2.5 at the time, and we went to one alley that didn't have them so we went to another who had only one and it was partially broken, but it did the job! They all have bumpers though.

Thanks everyone! We ended up going and DS had so much fun! We used the ramp and the bumpers. It definitely brought back memories for me of being a kid. We might even do his birthday there one year!

Not at all. One time they had his size in bowling shoes.. another time they didn't and he wore sneakers. They put up bumpers and will even give you one of those ramp things. I know that my DS couldn't throw the ball hard enough. It would get stuck halfway down. So he just rolled it down the ramp.
