Life after the rock n play

My DD will be 9 months on Monday. She still uses her RNP for some naps and to just relax and watch her Einstein videos. I never leave her unattended in it since she's able to sit up and is pretty strong. She's only 16 lbs so she's far from the weight limit. I know I'm going to have to retire it soon but is there something I can buy for her when she just wants to sit back and chill?

be realllllly careful. once my DD was able to sit up we still used it. she was also MAYBE 16lbs at best. i ALWAYS watched her in it. one morning we are watching TV in it and she sits up, leans over, and tumbles head first RIGHT out of it... she was fine, just got scared. but I retired it that day. i had to learn the hard way..

as far as afterwards, i think a combo of the exersaucer and just the floor since she sat up pretty well and crawled late (11m) so i didnt have to worry about her moving much at that time.

OMG that's scary! Was she buckled in? I always buckle her in but it is definitely getting tight. I keep telling DH i dont want to wait until she does something scary like that. DD is crawling and pulling herself up so I need something to keep her contained. It's getting exhausting chasing her around all day.

Life after the rock n play

My DD is 9 months. I stopped using the RNP two months ago because she was moving so much in it and I did not feel comfortable any longer. I now use her PNP a lot. She sits and stands in it, watches tv, plays and walks in it( holding on). Good way to keep her confined when I need to get things done.

My DS is only 3 mo and already thinking of retiring the RNP. He is over 15 lbs already and starting to lift himself up a little , plus I don't feel likethis thing is ver safe and that it's really good for him to sit in it too much, he seems too heavy, too long, too big for it at this point so I don't think we can use it much longer.
My friend's 5 mo old DD just fell out of it last week, she pulled herself up and the RNP tilted and fell. My friend emailed the company, don't think she heard from them yet...

That's scary! Their site does say: Developmental Guidelines: Use only with a child unable to sit up unassisted or grasp side of seat and pull upward.

yup, and this was the first time she pulled herself up my friend said, she didn't know that the baby could, yet, so not sure how it happened. She was strapped in too... Scared me, now I'm afraid to put DS in it. I ordered the infant to toddler rocker yesterday, so I'm thinking I'll sell the RNP and a bouncer I have and just have that.
