S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
How did ur S.O react to finding out u were pregnant? When did they begin to ask questions?
My S.O has started to say things like "our child" but isn't really asking any questions... Since I have a ton, I'm curious when men start to make a connection and/or bond with the baby while we are pregnant?

S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
My S.O was more in planning mode..not really talking about "our baby" or asking questions (he knew I was the talker and question asker!) he was more into getting house prepped (we built extra b/r) & making sure I was ok. But once our daughter was born it was an instant connection...it happened right there in delivery room...she is 5 now & its still a strong strong bond.

S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
I love these stories!! When we found out with dd I went shopping and wrapped up baby items for dh in a box. I told him I ordered him something for Christmas but it didn't come in time (it was 12/28/10). I will never forget the look on his face. We had been trying a while and were one month out of starting more aggressive treatments with our re. He just held me and I lost it. It was awesome. This time dh and I were not trying. Ddd was about 8 months. I had gone to the re two weeks prior because I wasn't getting a cycle. I didn't know then but the day I went to the re I was about a day pregnant. I made dd a shirt that said big sister with puff Pali ts because I couldn't find a shirt in 6-9 months. Dh saw when he came home from work and picked up dd as he always does when he comes in and said "oh boy" in an excited voice. Then said this going to be some adventure as he smiled from ear to ear. I think BBC I loved him even more at that moment. Then proceeded to cry because I should have had sushi one more time haha

Re: S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
This pregnancy was unplanned and a complete surprise (we needed IF treatments the first time). We had 1.5 year old twins at the time...so his reaction was "omg I need a beer" (it was 10 am). he made me pee on three aticks that day to make sure it was real. We were in denial I was almost 6 weeks already! By the end of the day he was excited. But I think a lot of men are different than women, they can be excited about something but still not talk about it, ask questions etc. With my twins it seemed like he wasn't "as into it" as me but the moment they were born there was no hiding his excitement.

My DH found out with me at the same time. He is very into researching pregnancy and then telling me "thats normal" or that my symptoms should be easing up within the next few weeks. He also knows what in our baby is developing when lol

S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
He cried when we first found out. Then pulled away from the baby when I had hyperemesis bc he said if it came down to the fetus or me he'd chose me. Now that I'm better and we know its a girl he is 110% invested and is constantly on baby sites and is looking forward to Lamaze and registering and everything else. He is always touching my stomach and asking how his girls are.

We are on #2, and my DH has absolutely NO connection, no conceptual understanding that another human being is going to be coming home with us, in our house until it is born.

Re: S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
My dh gets home from work at 3:30am and I woke up to one of my friends asking if I tested at 7am. So I got up, peed on the stick, and it was positive! I wanted dh to know before anyone else and I knew I was going to tell my friend so I woke up dh and said "I'm pregnant". He says, "oh, god" and rolled over. He got up a couple minutes later and gave me a kiss. Later that day he came home with roses. I'm 12 weeks now and I think he is starting to wrap his head around it. In the beginning, he was more nervous than anything. The other day when he was leaving for work he said good bye to me and then my stomach so I think he is getting there. He has a hard time with life changing events so I expected it but he always comes around lol

Re: S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
shock, disbelief, & fear Same as my reaction! (we were not trying & so this was really unexpected)... I showed him the 2 pg tests (that I took because my period was very late & I'd had pms for like 3+ weeks and no period yet, but still assumed it would be negative).... I was like "am I reading this right??" and his first words were "Oh my God, did I knock you up?!?!" Once we got over the initial shock, we got more used to the idea.... now he is excited & happy about it. He doesn't ask any questions though & doesn't seem too interested in the details yet.

No reaction. It was like I told him I did the laundry. Although I have been quite hesitant to acknowledge it myself since I had a chemical prior.

S.O's reaction to ur pregnancy?
He was really happy when he found out but cautious since we needed IVF to get pregnant...I dont think it felt "real" until about 12 weeks...My DH is totally connected but doesnt ask many questions...he talks to my stomach and says I love you to the baby and is always wanting me to be careful in everything I do...its sweet!!!
