baby shower - is this enough?

my baby shower is at a very casual restaurant and it is 3 hours long

its at noon so guests will have a choice of either lunch or breakfast meal (omlette, waffles, pancakes, chicken ceaser salad, hamburger, philly cheese steak, grilled chicken sandwich)
there will be a cake and then cookie platters on each table.
also coffee, tea, and brunch cocktails (bloody mary & mimosa)

my mom keeps thinking it is not enough and that it will look like it was done cheaply. she is debating on either asking them to add on an appetizer or salad course or adding some additional desserts. the favors are edible so i dont really think more dessert is the way to go...and i also think that adding in another course will just take time away from the already short party.

wwyd? and as a guest, would you think the shower was not done well if the above was what you were served?

I would leave as is. All sounds good to me.

you could always add an extra breakfast/lunch item...like a sald and like french toast - or some other breakfast food not currently being served

I think it's fine, it's a full meal plus dessert, no one is coming expecting to eat for hours, they are coming to celebrate you!

Re: baby shower - is this enough?

if you really wanted to add something I would say see if they can do a fruit/cheese platter for people when they are mingling when they come in but I still don't think you need it

i agree with this. If ur concerned, this would be nice... but i dont think its needed. Its a shower... at noon... a light meal is all you need.

I think it's always nice to have something to munch on when you first arrive. So maybe a fruit platter before the main course is served. Otherwise, I really think it's fine.

Re: baby shower - is this enough?

thanks ladies! i feel better knowing everyone thinks its enough.
i will have my mom speak to the restaurant when she gives the final count about adding fruit...thats a great idea. even if we dont do it in the beginning, adding fruit to dessert may be a nice touch.

i think the reason she is concerned is because she knows how much this place costs and it is cheap compared to other places...so she just wants to make sure it doesnt come off that way
