2WW info for all of us symptom checkers..

Found this on a previous thread and it's very informative!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Progesterone is very important to the development of your baby, and without it a pregnancy cannot be sustained within the womb. Progesterone allows the lining of your uterus to get plush and thick. When the developing blastocyst enters the womb it will now find a soft pillowy lining to settle down on. Progesterone also tells your brain not to shed the uterine lining, which would ultimately flush away the developing embryo before it could begin to secrete its own protective hormone.
Symptoms:
Breast tenderness: Progesterone can make your breasts tender and sore. You might also get sore nipples at this time. Many often think that breast changes are a sign of pregnancy, but they are normal during any cycle. However, an increase in tenderness can indicate pregnancy, as can tenderness when you normally don't have any.
Cervical fluid: Your cervical fluid may alternate between dry and creamy. Some women experience almost no cervical fluid, while other women have an abundance of a white-to-yellow creamy cervical fluid. Any amount or type is normal at this time.
Moodiness: You maynotice that you are more emotional during this time and these emotions may change at the drop of a hat. Progesterone is the main culprit behind PMS, and pregnancy is described by some as never-ending PMS. Not to worry though, you'll look back fondly at the time you started crying during the cheesiest of commercials.
Menstrual cramps:You may experience some menstrual cramping as your progesterone level stabilizes and your uterus adjusts to the new guest. This is perfectly normal, however, anything that causes you severe pain should be reported to your doctor.
Implantation spotting:We'll read about how the blastocyst will implant within the uterine lining in a moment, but if you experience brown or pink spotting this week, it could be due to the blastocyst implanting in your uterine lining. This does not always occur with implantation, however, and most of the time you will not experience any implantation spotting.
When will I get a positive pregnancy test?
With a very sensitive pregnancy test, the earliest possible time you can get a positive test is 7 days after ovulation. The blastocyst implants in the uterine lining on average between 7 and 10 days after ovulation occurs. As soon as the blastocyst implants, it begins to produce HCG (see below). However, you're better off waiting until at least 10 days after ovulation just to give it enough time. If your baby is a late-implanter, you may not show a positive pregnancy test until after your period is due. Confused? The easiest plan of action is to buy 2 tests. Take one 10 days after ovulation. If it is negative, wait to see if your period comes. If it does not, wait until 16 days after ovulation and take the second test. By then, it should be positive if you are pregnant.
Implantation
The blastocyst, now containing several hondred cells, soon lands on the plush, pillowy lining of the womb. Commonly this occurs on the back wall of the uterus. Cells on the outside of the blastocyst, known as the trophoblast, latch onto the uterine lining and begin to secrete chemicals that are designed to erode some of the lining away. As the chemicals go to work, the blastocyst tucks itself away deep inside the lining of the uterus. Some women experience spotting at this time, since some of the eroded lining may make its way down through the cervix and into the vagina. When the blastocyst has completely buried itself into the uterine
lining, it is called an embryo.
Ok yeah for all you symptom checkers Chat Icon those are the SAME signs you get before your period too. Please, (and I say this with sincerity and kindness) do NOT read into any signs. You are only setting yourself up for disappointment. After multiple cycles and multiple pregnancies, I can assure you that EVERY cycle is different, every pregnancy is different, and most of the times I have gotten pregnant are the times I was fairly certain it didn't work.
Good luck to everyone, but seriously, for your own sanity... just watch a series of your favorite show on dvd, shop online, donate to Sandy relief funds, but PLEASE don't read into signs!!
Penny, I think about now we all know the symptoms of 2ww can be both for pms or pregnancy- they are virtually the same and many of you remind us endlessly not to read into symptoms. We get it! Thank you! Just posting info for the many girls who ask ab implantation, ect. I thought it explained it well for many of us TTC.
Re: 2WW info for all of us symptom checkers..
I think I can throw myself into that group that always reminds not to read into sypmtoms lol
I think penny meant well, it is just when u are at or have gone through so much ttc wise u had to see someone upset bc they had every syptom and swore they were pregnant and were not. We have done that for years
I promise u it comes from a good place not a I told u so place or a I know better place
I hope u never r the one yrs from now to be thinking how we think,kwim bc it changes how u look at ttc
With that said I never want to be a debbie downer for anyone so I will keep my opnion on syptoms,etc to myself
Best of luck to you!!!
Re: 2WW info for all of us symptom checkers..
Gina and Penny- I really look up to you both. I don't know your entire stories but I know you both are always giving great info and help to all TTC'ers (waiting for FlowerWife to join this thread).. I appreciate it (I mean that bc I know you are looking out) and I was not getting moody but maybe a bit defensive because I feel that MOST, not all, threads posted about a girl just venting her symptoms or making a 2WW post, turns into someone saying not to look into symptoms, your setting yourself up for sadness, find something better to do, ect. I am just posting info that many girls ask about bc I just happened to find it looking through threads. I'm trying to keep this board light hearted, fun, informative.. free to act like a crazed 2WW'er and keep it positive.
So far I am almost a year TTC so I know the journey can be a long one. God willing, I will get my BFP or at least answers from a RE.
I think this is great bc it highlights how progesterone is likely the culprit for all those signs and symptoms! Basically what pennycat gina and I have been saying for a long time.
Yes, thats what I originally saw.. it just highlighted progesterone as a cause of BOTH preg and pms.. it explained it well for everyone so I figured I wouldn't get flagged by you guys........Chat Icon
I agree with OP... I have been on this board as well as others and I feel like this board has taken a nose dive in the sense that it used to be okay to post things and lately I have to think twice about posting certain things. I wish this board can return to what it used to be and not have to think twice about what I want to say. I was hoping that during the 2ww, I could have compared symptoms with others... Even to keep my mind off of POAS... I know there are tons of ladies on this board whether TTC or stalking and I'm sure others feel the same. While it is true not to obsess about symptoms, we all do it anyway....
Getting back to the original post...I had all of those symptoms and yes it could have been PMS, but it wasn't and it was my BFP. I think it's nice to have that hope each month that it could be your BFP.
Having hope is the whole point of the TTC board! We all help and support eachother through the emotional rants, peeing on a stick too early, symptom checks, funny symptoms that make us swear we are preg.. it's part of the journey. Congrats on your BFP by the way!! So happy you made it to the pregnancy board! Can't wait to join you ladies there!!!!
I'm 7dpo and feeling awful but I think it's from the stress of the school shooting. My stomach has just been a mess from it! I also have slight cramping starting yesterday and gassy but again, that could be from my stomach being a mess. My boobs also hurt on and off. Progesterone is working a number on us lol I'm waiting it out until at least sat or sunday (well, will try to LOL).. Congrats on your BFP though!!! Exciting!!
Re: 2WW info for all of us symptom checkers..
It's true that sometimes AF symptoms can mimic BFP BUT just to give some hope, I've had things that were just different each time I was pregnant that made me say hmmmm and test. For example, everyone usually gets sore boobs before AF and with a BFP...BUT for me, with AF I get sore boobs a week before then slowly they go away. With a BFP my boobs only get sore like 2 days before AF Is due and it gets worse and worse...
Also, I was someone that used to doubt that nausea could really set in before a BFP. But this time around I was seriously nauseous 5 days before my period was due!! I thought I was getting a stomach bug. But NOPE, the nausea was definitely a sign and has stayed with me since! (i'm now 8 weeks and its terrible).
Good luck to everyone and stay positive. And don't worry if you have zero symptoms, I know women who had none and got their BFP!
