Can anyone recommend a Pottery Barn Rug-update at bottom
Just got an email from Pottery Barn for 20% off so I thought I might get a rug for under my table. My dining room is open to my kitchen (pictures in my album). I have a natural color table, cream cabinets and giallo quarry countertop but my walls are not painted yet.
TIA

Re: Can anyone recommend a Pottery Barn Rug
I wouldn't pick a wool rug from pottery barn. I have two and OMG the shedding is insane! The living room rug took TWO years to stop shedding. It was so bad that I would vacuum, sit down on it to play with my kids and sit up and shedding was all over me. There were tumbleweeds of wool in every crevice of the house. My mom said to toss it but it was a house warming gift from here and she spent a lot I couldn't throw it away. Thank God it stopped. Against my better judgement I got another rug thinking maybe it was just that one rug so for the boys room I bought another wool rug this time from pottery barn kids and guess what, it sheds just as bad but luckily, we aren't in the room except for bedtime and picking out outfits so there isn't a lot of foot traffic to disturb the wool and make it go all over but even just walking on it or sitting on it causes it to shed.

Re: Can anyone recommend a Pottery Barn Rug
I have a rug from QVC which is wool and it did shed for about a year. The one good thing about wool (or at least this rug) is that it does not stain. I spilled a glass of red wine on it and not one stain.

Re: Can anyone recommend a Pottery Barn Rug
You can buy a Safavieh rug from overstock, rugsusa, for less money than PB and they are top quality.

Re: Can anyone recommend a Pottery Barn Rug
I have not had any good experiences with PB rugs, and it's a shame because they are so nice. I recently got DS nursery rug there and it needed to be sent back two time due to shedding and seems falling apart.
Believe it or not, I just got a really nice rug from QVC. The quality is great and I am very pleased with it. Image Attachment(s):

I agree. I have had many PB rugs over the years. The shedding on the rug in my sons room was out of control. The rug I bought for my others sons room has not held up well at all... very disappointed.
The rug in my room has been ok... Try ballard designs, they have some really beautiful rugs.

I guess we're really lucky because we have two wool rugs from Pottery Barn and no shedding issues with either. We've been very happy with both purchases.
