Maternity leave
When did you have this discussion with your boss? I'm 20w and it has been mentioned once. I plan to bring it up in late Jan. I plan to be out for 10-12w. Is late Jan too late should I do it sooner?

Maternity leave
When i told my boss i was pregnant i stressed my desire to work all the way to the end for the most time home with the baby (that was at 14weeks). Around 24 i discussed working from home my last two weeks which she supported. I would start to have the discussion now if you plan on stopping before your due date, at my job we only get 12 weeks, so there wasn't any discussion about my return since it was given that it would be 12 weeks after i deliver.
ETA: by 28 weeks i was transitioning my work that needs to be covered while i'm out.

Maternity leave
The sooner the better, it allows everyone to plan and start the transition without scrambling too close to the end. I'm due 2.18 but at my next appointment we are discussing potential csection dates so I'll talk to my boss when I get back from the appointment. We have already started discussing who will cover what while I'm out I just need to give them an estimated schedule of when I'll be out.

Re: Maternity leave
I was have been very open and honest about everything with my boss....
- he knew i was dealing with infertility and i that was better cause he was fleixible with me having to get to appts
- I told him at 6 week I was preg b/c he knew of all the infertility stuff, was super supportive and i was incredibly sick and thought it best to tell him why I was not myslef
- told him how long I planned/wanted to take and have also told him that I will still be helping and be involved as much as I can while I am out.... I value and care my job very much... maybe too much!
