big ball of anxiety
I am an anxious person to begin with, it has gotten so much better. Last night I had this weird tingling sensation in my arm, almost like it went numb, but it didn't. It lasted like 30 seconds then went away, I felt like it was traveling up to my face, but i think that was more anxiety, because as soon as I calmed down it went away.
Well now since yesterday I am a ball of anxiety. I am afraid to be alone because I pretty much convinced myself I had a stroke. I feel so off today, nothing feels right. I am having panic attacks about everything!! The elevator sounded like it stopped, I freaked, the train stood in the tunnel too long, my heart started racing.
I haven't really been sleeping. Saturday I went to bed at 9, but woke up at 3 in the morning and forced myself to go back to bed at 5, then I was up at around 10, Sunday and last night, I didn't go to bed until around 2-230 and was up at 720 to hit the alarm then went back to bed until 830 ish.
Anyone have any insight?? Has this happened to anyone? I am gonna call my OB today and see what they say. I am hoping if I just get some sleep it will help, but I don't know how I am going to stay at work all day with this feeling.

Re: big ball of anxiety
It is definitely not healthy to be this anxious during pregnancy! Please speak to your OB today. You might also benefit from speaking with a therapist who will give you techniques, breathing exercises, etc and help you work out some of these anxieties.
Were you like this before becoming pregnant? The raging hormones likely don't help...

Re: big ball of anxiety
I definitely had anxiety issues before I was pregnant, but they were totally under control and I felt great!!
Just that tingling set it off. and of course now I have tingling in my arms and fingers, and it's driving me crazy! I am going to try to leave work early and get to my OB to see if this is normal or what.
I've been reading that tingling can be normal, I am sure it doesn't help that I didn't drink water yesterday and ended the day with a big mocha frappuccino. I am wondering if the big influx of caffeine triggered it too. I've been randomly drinking coffee still, mostly decaf, and if it's not decaf, I only drink half a cup, so I am wondering if that helped it along.
The tingling is just weird, it's like sharp pins and needles randomly in my fingers, hands, arms, legs. I am also worried that it's diabetes because I was pre-diabetic before I was pregnant so seeing my OB is definitely on my list today.

the hormonal changes of pregnancy can absolutely trigger anxiety. as the PP said you should absolutely talk to your OB and absolutely see a therapist. people who have anxiety during pregnancy are much more likely to develop post partum depression or a perinatal mood disorder which can be quite upsetting and debilitating. getting help now will lower the risk of that immensely.
high anxiety levels during pregnancy (i dont mean normal anxiety, i mean panic attack level) can lead to a higher instance of colicky or agitated newborns. people are always SO worried about eating cold cuts or hot dogs or unpasteurized cheese during pregnancy - yet they don't even think about the effects of high anxiety. im not saying this to scare you im saying it because it is something that is treatable you just have to want to get it taken care of (and many people think its not a big deal and dont). so def look into it and take care of yourself!!!

I definitely want to. I was fine until last night, I haven't felt this bad in a looooong time. today is a late day for my OB so he isn't in yet, I am going to call as soon as they open and see what I can do.
