Ques about tipping only one of our garbage guys?
Our main garbage guy is not nice and I don't want to tip him. Many times he won't take what we leave out and I have to drive it to the landfill myself (gas = $ from their tip, IMO).
The driver is sorta nice, but he frequently hits my neighbor's fence because he drives too fast -- don't really want to tip him.
There's a relatively new helper who is SUPER friendly, cordial, polite and just plain nice.
Their holiday card came today and it only has the main guy and the driver named on it. I was thinking of leaving just the nice guy a tip, with an envelope named for him -- is that terribly wrong?? Will I be setting myself up for another year of bad service??
TIA. I hate these tipping questions.

I would personally just put the money in the envelope and call it a day. Chances are you already $hitty service will get worse if you give them 1 envelop for this guy only!!!!!!

Make it easy on yourself and don't tip at all. I Have tipped when I was doing alot of work on my house, and they took alot of stuff, more then the usual. But if less people tipped on Jobs that were salary jobs, You would not be getting better service based on your tips.

they leave an envelope seriously. I cant believe you have to tip garabge people. Tipping is out of control. I dont get why people expect to be tipped to do thier job!!
with that vent  i wouldnt tip at all!

I'm going to have to ask DH if our garbage men give us a card becuase I've never seen one. I guess ours do an ok job but they are super stingy about taking anything besides literal bags of garbage. We don't normally tip them, it's not something I think about. Maybe we should? I wonder if most people do . . .
As far as only tipping the one new guy- I wouldn't do it unless you could do it without the other two seeing. I would imagine all this would do is make your crappy service worse.

Ques about tipping only one of our garbage guys?
Ours left us a card last year. I put it right on top of the garbage bags, empty. Our guys suck. My pales are always down the block. When we moved in we tipped them because we had a lot of carpets ripped out. They never said thank you. They get nothing while Im still alive and living here.

Well, yes its basically a holiday card. It says something like if you are going to give me a card please leave it on top so it doesn't get lost in the mail or something like that. hint hint :)
The garbage man says something similar but specifically says tip and they give you a little baggy to put it in.

Our sanitation guys split the money. I've seen the passenger seat of the truck's cab filled with about 200 loose $20 bills.

I think tipping only one would be worse than not tipping at all. If you really want the one guy to get a tip you're going to have to suck it up and tip them as a whole.
