Twist on using a name someone already has.
I get why you are annoyed and I would be too but it seems like you are not close to this family member at all, right?
If that were the case with me, I would be annoyed and move on since I wasn't really close with them and never saw them anyway.

No not close with them, but we do see them.

Agree with the other posters. If you are not close then why stress about it? And on top of that, your children are older so you clearly chose the names first.
I have a cousin and a distant cousin with the same names, and to be honesty, it took me about 20 years to realize that 2 people in my family have the same name! Nobody in our family judges the 2nd family for using the same name.
