Basement seating-where to go

We went to LaZBoy and Raymour and Flanagan today..we don't have a huge space but DH would like reclining seating down in our basement..anywhere else to go? We can't think of anywhere! Thanks!

I don't know where you, but have you tried Stanley's Furniture in Patchogue?

Re: Basement seating-where to go

i wouldn't go w/bobs
we thought oh, lets get something cheaper for the basement..bad idea!

bobs furniture hasn't held up well when we 'really' started using it...we thought it was good at first and was going to last but once we started using it more and more-we realized that the quality isn't great

our furniture from raynmor is much better quality
in hindsight, i wish we wouldn't have been 'cheap'

we were actually talking about this the other day saying that our next couches will not be from bobs.

but on a side note, we do have area rugs from bobs that are holding up just fine!
hit up all the stores on 110!

Re: Basement seating-where to go

I'm also shopping for basement seating and I'm looking for a good sectional that will last with three DCs and a dog. I'm being told to go to Bob's but I'm nervous.

We are looking at Raymour & Flanigan, Ashley, and Jennifer Convertible but I'm hearing mixed reviews on all three.

We avoid LaZBoy, too -- our wedding gift from my ILs was a new LR set from there - less than 3yrs in we were horribly dissatisfied with the quality of the furniture. Fabric ripped/tore on all pieces, plus it's just uncomfortable after that short amount of time.

Interesting..the lady at Raymour and Flanagan told me that I should expect to be back there in 5 years to buy new again..we aren't like that and aren't spending like that! I thought LaZBoy seemed to be good quality and I think Bob's is not an option because of the many bad reviews..so sad that there are no good places to get furniture!

Re: Basement seating-where to go

Raymour & Flanagan isn't all that great either. My bedroom set is from there and I'm sorry that I didn't go to Ethan Allen for a better quality set.
Bob's is not for me at all.

My living room couches are from The Place. I wouldn't go there again either.
Not happy with the way they are holding up after only 4 years.

I'd either go to Macys or if I wanted leather, go to th the Leather Source on 110. They carry a line called Ekornes, also known as the Stressless recliner. Best chair ever ! They also make sofas.

I will have to keep checking around..maybe Macy's is next..issue is we are dealing with a deep room, but not a wide one, if that makes sense, so no sectional

I bought a sectional from JC Penney about 7years ago and it's still going strong. It's not a recliner, but very comfortable.

Re: Basement seating-where to go

We got our basement couches from Bob and have zero issues with them. DH is down there every night and we have company for almost every holiday.

ETA: Our living room set is 12 years old and from Lazy Boy and holding up like a dream, even with 2 kids.
