BTDT - wearing contacts during labor
I've found mixed info on this - do you wear contacts during labor? or are you supposed to take them out?

They tell you to take them out in case of an emergency C-section. It has something to do with anesthesia. But I have been under anesthesia before and never took mine out, so I think it's fine!!!

I wore mine.
They asked if I wanted to take them out I said no- they just made me sign something saying I wanted them in.
Odd, but true.
I just didn't want to be laboring in my glasses- felt it would be uncomfortable

Good to hear! I hate my glasses, and am practically blind without them, so contacts will be in.

That's strange. I had a c-section and they never told me I couldn't wear them. I had them in the whole time and I was fine.

I wore mine for my first DD with no issues. So glad I did - it was a long induction/labor. With my 2nd, I went into labor late at night so it didn't even occur to me to put them in before going to the hospital. I wish I did! It was so uncomfortable being in labor with my glasses on. At one point I just ripped them off and threw them at my husband because they were pissing me off! Try to wear your contacts!

I wore mine but didn't bring rewetting drops, my eyes were sooo dry and itchy afterwards.

That's such a relief to hear I can wear them! I am practically blind and can't see out of my glasses nearly as well!

I wore mine through a full day of labor and a c-section. They never even asked me about it.

No I didnt, but wish i had. I had a csection and assumed i had to have them off since that what i was told for other surgeries Ive had .
