We use Arrow Exterminating. We have a monthly contact with them that started when we had mice in the garage. Chat Icon

Critters in my attic!

Depends on the critters? But generally an exterminator.

Re: Critters in my attic!

Thinking squirrels..i called one exterminator already. $100 for an inspection and if I hire them that goes toward the cost of the de-squirreling and closing off entryways.

My roofer recommended them so I'm inclined to do it.

Able Wildlife. Anyone know them?

How much was that? Did he close up the hole that they were entering through?

It came out to be like $1000 and yes, he did close up the hole. I heard them the night before we left for London on vacation but we had to wait until we got home to call. I was afraid they were going to be in my bedroom when I got home. LOL

Re: Critters in my attic!

I would have replied sooner, but I didn't see this til now. I'm on the tail end (pun intended) of de-squirreling. I heard them in the attic scurrying about and it FREAKED me out. I called TAG Wildlife Removal, only because they were close by. It was $575 plus $125 for the first visit, which was an emergency visit at night when I first heard them. He honestly tried to talk me out of the emergency visit, assuring me the if he came the next day, it would be fine, but I insisted he come right away. There was no way I'd be able to sleep not knowing what was going on up in the attic!

He trapped and removed for 2 weeks, then he was supposed to come back this week to close up the entry spot. I haven't heard from him, so I'll give him a call next week.

Thanks for responding. I'm having Catch a Critter come on Wednesday. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone going over all scenarios. We think it's squirrels. He says it takes about a week to catch and then patch the entryway. If it's squirrels it's $650, if it's Racoons it's $750. Nasty either way!

DH and I almost fell down when we got the quotes from these places. But they are rodents and a nuisance and they have to go.

Critters in my attic!

I've paid someone $450 so far and nada squirrels has he caught. I can hear them in the attic between the floorboards and they nest over our bedroom, but we don't know how they are getting in. I have a picture of one hanging on to the top corner of our house but he said he's checked and there's no access in that area.

Anyone know a successful removal company who works out east?

Re: Critters in my attic!

I like Ray from Catch a Critter but the point of entry is too steep for him to access. I highly recommend him as he identified some other spots we need to address in the future and knows his stuff.

My roofer is going to come and take a look and see if he can access the entry point.

The squirells are not in my attic but borrowed inside a piece of siding with a leaf nest. So the nest needs to be removed and then the siding needs to be screwed back in.

Re: Critters in my attic!

Just buy a HAVAHART trap put a peanut butter spread bagel in it and trap it. Drive it quite a few miles away and release. Find the place where they are getting in and seal it shut.
