Trying to figure out if we can swing a trip to WDW next year. So we want to start budgeting.

Originally we were thinking of going April 2014 for our 10 year anniversary. But thinking crowds will be bad in April. March weather is iffy to right? Had thought about early May but DD#1 will be in 1st grade and they have a lot of things planned inMay etc. DD#2 will be in prek so we don't want to miss k screening or k orientation. DH threw out going sooner and still celebrating.

So how is Nov after Veterans day (11/11) but before Thanksgiving which isn't until Nov 28th next year. So maybe the 16-23?

Is this a good time to go? Are we better to try for the 1st week of December? It seems that Christmas decorations are up either dates and the Christmas party is going as well. One concern is I see pop warmer (football teams and cheerleaders decend on WDW) the 1st week.

Has anyone gone these times? Weather is still nice right? As in 70s and low 80s during the day but cool at night right? I think there are usually deals then to right?

Probably the last trip there for a while so we want to make it special. Looking for less crowds as DD#1 doesn't do well in lpng lines.

We went three years ago November 10-15. That time of the year was PERFECT--weather-wise and also because of the holiday stuff. We are planning to go back that time next year too.

The weather was great. One day it was grey and drizzly, but the rest were as you described. DH even took DDs to the pool one day. During the evenings the girls wore windbreakers and I had a light cardigan.

All the Christmas decorations were up. The Holiday Party was on but we didn't go. And my absolute favorite thing ever was the Osborne Family light show at Hollywood Studios!

I can't wait to go back and hopefully at that exact time!

Great so maybe I will speak to DH and see if we can shoot for that week. How is airfare then?

April's actually going to be good this year since we have an early Easter.

Your week in November sounds good, Christine. We like to go the week after Thanksgiving but it's too late this year to make that happen so if we weren't on the Oasis for T'day again in 2013, we'd go to WDW that week from the 16-23 too.

Airfare's hard to predict but your arrival date would be good, the challenge might be the 23rd since it's a potential Thanksgiving week travel day. Still it should be outside the insane price window.

Go for it!

We don't want to go in April 2013 we would do Nov or Dec 2013 or Spring 2014. We definitely can't do this year and airfare has long passed. Our 10 year anniversary would be April 2014. But we figured we could celebrate early if we went late 2013.

See that was what we weren't sure about since Thanksgiving is late next year. I figured airfare and crowds would be higher if we did Nov 30th- Dec 7th.

Kim discount wise- we are probably more likely to hit something the week of the 16th more so then right after Thanksgiving too right?

How are the crowds then? I know mousesavers says it is a low time but I read mixed things. I know nothing about this time as I have gone after the holidays, May or Sept. Never during the Holiday time. I assume MVMCP is a must? Are there any groups then? Pop Warner is beginning of December right?

We just went the week before Thanksgiving.

I was very suprised how crowded it was ( compared to the last time DH and I went in Aug 2008).

The weather was nice though- no rain and half the week was very warm to hot/ pool weather and the end of the week was cool and we were wearing fleece. So its very unpredictable.

Do you think it was more crowded this year because that was the AP fantasyland preview time?

Its possible. We were able to go in and do Enchanted Tales, meet Ariel and do that ride. Saw Be Our Guest restaurant but didnt eat there :(
It was also the beginning of the Very Merry Christmas parties at night so that is another factor to consider.

I was just in Disney for Nove 9-16. Love it cause it was (relatively) empty. I was 80 degrees every day and at night just a little chill. We still swam and stuff but did not have to deal wiht the craziness of a peak time. The parks were decorated for Xmas then also.

We have done that timeframe twice. Once was the Saturday after T-day for week, and last year we did Dec 4-11. We were there for basically all of Pop Warner.

Both weeks have good weather, but can get chilly at night. Christmas Party is going on BUT you won't see Candlelight Processional and Holidays Around the World until the day after Thanksgiving so I prefer to go AFTER t-day for that reason. Before Thanksgiving there's still the Christmas Party and the Osbourne Lights, but EPCOT takes longer to get into full swing.

WHen I was there for thanksgiving weekend, the weekend was crowded but by Tuesday there were no crowds. First week of December has a lot of Disney fan events that can impact crowds, but not significantly. Pop Warner isn't bad at all. if you stay at one of their resorts, you will see a lot of them and may get serenaded by cheerleaders in the food court..lol. But they are competing all day, so they're not really in the parks a lot. You'll see more of them in the parks as teams are eliminated, but it's really not bad. One of my favorite times to go. The tree at MK doesn't go up until AFTER the Christmas Parade Taping (usually first weekend of December) so if that matters to you, you may want to take it into account.

We liked both weeks and would go either week again.

We would have to go 11/30 if we go after Thanksgiving which is Thanksgiving weekend. I figure higher airfare and more crowds than 11/16-11/23
right? I don't mind that the tree isn't up yet. I am more interested in the lower crowds any decorations or events will only be a plus. I think we are leaning towards 11/16-23 unless there is a negative to going that week? I want the lower crowds bc DD#1 doesn't do well with long lines. When does airfare come out for Nov?

Crowd-wise, those weeks should actually be similar. Going earlier would avoid Candlelight Processional Crowds at EPCOT as well as the taping

See that was what I was thinking. Plus I think they are still you for the candlelight processional. They will be 4 and 6 when we go.
