For thiose girls who plan on working until the baby comes, are you carrying around extra clothes just in case? I'm so worried my water will break at work and I'll have nothing to wear out of here.

If your water breaks you will continue to leak. Mine broke at home and I changed cothes but continued to leak for quite a bit.

no... the chances of it happening at work are quite small. Most people's water breaks at night, over night or early in the morning when you body is relaxed. I will probably have a towel in my car on the seat the last few weeks/month, so that will be there is i need anything.

My biggest fear is my water breaking at work...or on the subway!

make that the 4 of us!!!!!!!! i'm not bringing a change of clothes but i have pads i will slip on to stop the leaking from getting everywhere. i'll put a towel in the car to be on the safe side. i'll have my suitcase ready and packed at home, so if God forbid i go into labor when I am not at home, i can just go to the hospital and DH can pick up my suitcase the next day/that night so i have something to change into

I was so so so worried about this! In the end, my job decided to allow me to work from home for the next 2 wks (or until the kid comes out), so I no longer than to worry about my 2hr each way commute. I feel for you ladies!!!

Re: Spinoff to: Maternity Leave
my client said that if my water breaks while i'm at their offices, she'd take me to the hospital, then clean everything up.
while the thought grosses me out, i was definitely touched by the sentiment.
i'm working up until the friday before my sunday due date, so fingers crossed nothing crazy happens.

I definitely plan to keep extra clothes in my office when I get closer (only 22w now). Even if I continue to leak, I will want to get out of my work pants since I have to dress up for work and get into some sweat pants.

Nope; never even thought of it. Like someone else said yes it happens (it happend to a Mom earlier this year); but it's rare...and the water usually breaks during the night or early in the morning.
