Trains around the Christmas Tree and hard wood floors etc.
For the first time this year we really have the space to do this! What I'm envisioning in my living room is the lionel train set going around the Christmas Tree with maybe some houses etc. around. The thing is our living room has nice hard wood floors and I have two little ones and I am afraid the tracks etc. will scratch the floors. I'm wondering if they sell something to put everything on around the tree? Any suggestions if you have BTDT? Also, would love to see pics. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

We've been doing this every year since I can imagine. Ity's actually a childhood tradition that I am continuing with my children. we have wood floors and never had a problem!

My grandmother used to use a white sheet, that she would stuff and roll up the edges around. She would then place her Christmas village and train on the "snow" (sheet)and she would add cotton for snow, etc. She was very particular and it looked amazing.

My mom would put it right on the tree skirt with no problem. Hid all the wires to the little light up houses too.

We do this. We have a really nice, large tree skirt, and we set up our train set around the tree on top of that.
