Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
We typically get a 10-13' tree. I love real, but considering fake. BUT is there a really really really really good looking fake out there?

The more $$, the more real it looks. Some of the really high-end ones look more real than real trees. Each pine "needle" has variation in the color, just like real needles. There's variation from one needle to the next, like real needles. Same texture as real needles.

Yes, Ballard designs. My friend has one from there and it was crazy money, but it looks real.

Re: Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
Yes, but it does cost money. We paid about $500 for our 7 1/2 ft. tree but it was worth it after paying $80 every year for a real tree that was just thrown away.

LOL between driving into the mountains, gas, lunch, dinner, etc....the tree alone is EASILY $100+. I don't mind spending, BUT it has to look GREAT! I swore I'd never go fake, but this year it's becoming a hassle to worry about.

Re: Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
we spent 700 on this (hopefully) once in lifetime purchase. We bought it at fortunoff years ago but to us it looks like the real thing. Most people are fooled at how real it appears. IMHO if you can splurge, don't even look at the pricetag and just buy the most lifelike beautiful tree you can afford and you will have a gorgeous tree for years. This is or 7th year with it so it has basically paid off at this year considering we spent so much on fresh trees originally.

everyone thinks my tree is real. I got it at Target and it has "feel real" ends. looks and feels like a real tree all along the tips of the branches

This was years ago before they closed down (sorry I know that doesnt help). But ours is 10ft. We have very high ceilings too. They were having a huge sale on Coumbus day week so the tree was more 700 was what we paid. My mom said crazy...but now she says it was wise to splurge....7 years later lol

I saw one at bj's that had more realistic ends, we got our after xmas one year from Hicks, but I wish we had held out.... if you break the price down over the number of years you expect to have it it wont seem so bad.

Re: Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
I'm buying a real live tree in the pail from nursery this year, every year I have jkust had small 3' table top tree since I had no room for a larger tree, I bought house last year, and now have the room. So this year I'm going to buy a 4' living tree , use it for Christmas, and let it grow a bit more, keep it in the pail and then each year just prune and trim the new top growth, it will get fuller and keep it the size I want it. like a larger bonzi tree, it will stay the size you allow them to and still live in the same pot. Have a live tree without the cut tree issues with needles, and enjoy it

Re: Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
After years of going out east and cutting one down and loving that tradition every year...I caved in and bought a fake one.
Other than missing out on the smell of a real one, I LOVE the fake one. We bought it at Harrows. Its 12 feet tall and looks real. Its really pretty but it cost almost $800.

Re: Is there such a thing as a REALLY REALLY lifelike artificial tree?
I think I'm going to be checking out Frontgate, for next year!!!!
This year has been nothing but aggravation & I hate that for the holidays!
Between my car accident & now having a car I don't want a tree on Then finding a place that'll deliver a 10-11' tree. The cost $100 a year The mess, the clean up...
AND THE TREE IS STILL CROOKED, after 5 fixes!
I never thought I'd do artificial, but I'm thinking it's the way & then we will get a 3' for the girls.
