Silly question. Sleep n Plays
To me, they look like pjs so I would tend to have the baby wear them to sleep only but then again, its a baby, i know logically its fine for a regular outfit. And my mom who is a pain keeps seeming to insist that they just wear those almost all the time and pants and stuff like that isnt until later. I have plenty of soft pants and onesies to make an outfit and then socks..and even some shirts and pants for when he is a newborn or 0-3 month size but just wondering what everyone else thinks or is doing...are sleep n plays basically for sleeping basically or do you plan on using them as regular daytime outfits for dc?

I always dressed DS. I never liked keeping him in pjs all day. He had so many outfits I was excited to dress him.

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
My 7 week old lives in these...he wears a onesie under them. It's easiest for changing diapers and most comfy for lounging / naps. He has regular shirts and pants that I put him in sometimes too, but not nearly as often.

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I still send my almost 5-month-old to day care in them at times. I have started getting her dressed in "real" clothing more often during the week, but I really love how she looks in sleep and plays, and they are so easy.

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
In the beginning I had her in her sleep n plays almost. All the time. Cute outfits for when we'd have some place to be. Now I only use them for her to sleep in. My mom said the same thing... That why wouldn't I just have her in the sleep n plays all day long... I really don't have an answer for that. I just had so much clothes for dd that I wanted her to wear em before she didn't get the chance to.

Silly question. Sleep n Plays
That's pretty much all I got as gifts. They are so easy. I know I won't be dressing her in outfits while we are at home so I'm happy I have a ton of them

Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I dressed DD every day and used the sleep n plays as her pj's. I had so many outfits for her that she wore things sometimes only once!

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I'll be doing mostly these sleep n plays, stretchies, whatever they go by! They are so much softer and comfy than outfits. I also have some soft separates (onesies and pants), but I feel like it's easier to just grab one thing from the drawer than trying to match bottoms and tops! And you don't have to worry about pants coming down, socks falling off, etc. Everything stays in place!

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I may be the minority but DD always gets dressed, we use sleep and plays only for pjs. She got so much clothes from my shower I'm lucky if she wore everything 2x!

Silly question. Sleep n Plays
They were the easiest thing to keep them in. DS was a winter baby.

same except dd. She was dressed from day 1. I had so many cute outfits, that were also comfy, I didn't see the need to keep her in sleep and plays all day.
Her take home outfit was a cute dress

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
trust me, any kind of pj's is waaay easier than onsies and pants at the beginning. is a week old and in newborn clothes - which i only have a limited amount bc i didn't know how big she'd be. i've put her in onsies/pants but pj's are so much easier and snuggly for her - day or night. you won't be taking the baby anywhere really at the beginning anyway.

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
They are definitely the easiest thing in the beginning. I got DD a mix of pajama type ones and fancier ones from Denny's if we were having company or going out - that was sort of my compromise between having her in pajamas and getting her all dressed. I probably started putting her in regular clothes by two months.

Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I've heard that the baby will live in these at the beginning but I already have so many outfits for her that I think i will be dressing her up quite a bit as well just so I can see her in those outfits!

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
You can dress LO in whatever you want, don't go by anyone else!
I personally LOVED the sleep n plays, I felt like they were way more comfortable than 99% of the "outfits". Even the really soft and comfy outfits tend to bunch up when they're really little. Besides that, they're sleeping so frequently that I though it was better to be in something pajama-like.
I would dress DD up when we were going to see people or going out but when we were just lounging at home, she wore sleep n plays most of the time.

Re: Silly question. Sleep n Plays
I will be using these all day and night for my twins and used them all the time for my son as well. At around 3 months or so I started dressing him in comfy carters outfits during the day and would dress him up in trendy things for pics or special occasions but all and all you can't go wrong with sleep and plays..they are the best!
