Did you wash these things in preparation for baby?
Do I need to wash these things: - window valance (I'm thinking the baby won't ever actually touch this) - Crib Skirt (same reason)
Are these things machine washable? - car seat padding/lining - stroller (I have the city select and it's a burlap fabric that can be removed) -changing pad that came with the diaper bag - it's vinyl -toys such as Baby Einstein Peacock and other stuffed toys -Baby Bjorn and insert carrier
How did you wash your baby bathtub? or is that not necessary?
What about the pack n play mattress and changing pad/newborn napper?
Thanks in advance! I want to start setting things up but I'm paranoid of ruining/shrinking all her new stuff.

Re: Did you wash these things in preparation for baby?
I washed pretty much the things that touch the baby's skin directly so all clothes socks pjs swaddles sleep sacks blankets sheets for cribs bassinets and pack n plays I didn't wash things like valences or car seat pads things like that as for the pack n play bassinet I would put a wee wee pad type thing lol down before changing diapers so really my rule was wash the things that touched the baby's skin directly hth a little :)

Maybe I'm the minority but I didn't wash a lot of things with my twins they came early and I wouldn't have washed most of the stuff anyways

I did not wash the valance or crib skirt. Baby is still alive
I washed all other items you mentioned. Just be picky with what you put in the dryer. In my household, as long as it isn't electonic, it goes in the washing machine. Just may have to go on the delicate cycle to some items.
No need to clean bathtub ahead of time. It'll get washed when you have baby in there
Pack and play mattress... Put a waterproof pad on it and then a sheet over and you'll never have to wash the mattress. Dd has peed plenty of times on it and it never got through to the mattress with the pad on.

I didn't wash ANY of those things when I had my DD. The only things I washed were clothes, towels, washcloths, and sheets.

DH put the whole crib bedding set in the wash including the window valance and crib skid. In his defense he probably had no idea what he was washing. haha

Thanks!
I'm liking these answers. I did not want to have to do all that laundry!
I was already planning on doing clothes, sheets, blankets, etc. but then my mind started wondering....

I never washed any of those with my first...though the plush toys are probably a good thing to wash since they may put it in their mouth!
