You're not behind... We went at 25 weeks. We went to buy buy baby then babies r us in the same day and just did it all in one shot. People font but gifts too early so there's really no rush. We were going to wait til dec (about 30 weeks) but I didn't want to deal with the holiday shopping traffic on old country road.

I started an online registry with about 5 big things that I knew I wanted from research/reccomendations, etc. around 18 weeks.
We waited until 22 weeks to go to the store and actually do the full registry. We wanted to know the baby's gender and then went on vacation from weeks 20-21.
I'm sure you have plenty of time. I did 75% of mine online which worked for us because DH doesn't have much patience. We really only picked things out in the store that you need to feel, (like towels), we were torn between (strollers) and small items (like sippy cups, because there are a million options).

If you're having a shower you just need to make sure you go before the invitations go out.
