hospital bag for a c-section?
I know there have been posts about what you need in your hospital bag (and after the hospital) after having a baby. I was just wondering if I should be packing anything specific (or having anything specific at home) for after a c-section?

The only thing I really needed was high waisted underwear, you won't want ANYTHING touching your incision afterwards.

Agreed! Either high or low waisted. I also found nightgowns more comfy than wearing pants or pj bottoms.

Thank you! This might be a really dumb question (and I apologize if it is) but where do they make the incision (like how far up or down?) Or does that vary based on the person? Trying to figure out what I'll be wearing in the weeks after...or I might just stick to DH's big tshirts and sweatpants.

Totally not a dumb question. My incision is about 5 inches below my belly button. When I first came home I lived in nightgowns, big t-shirts and lounge pants (usually DHs). Once my staples were removed (about a week after DS was born) I moved on to yoga pants & shirts. Oh, and I wore maternity pants & jeans when I went out for a while. Just felt better against my incision.

This. My incision is really low also, about 4-5 inches below my belly button as well. It is healing really well and you can barely see it. I didn't have staples put in and definitely appreciate that my mom bought me nighgowns cause I was not able to wear any of the pjs that I had bought, cause I was still in some pain.

My incision is right above my bikini line...where they would start the top waxing, if that makes sense. High wasted undies are a must! Also, extra clothes. You will be there for a while. That is it as far as extras for a c.

High waist undies or you can stock up on the disposable ones that the hospital gives you, the belly bandit or something to bind your stomach, lots of nightgowns or baggy clothing, Aveeno or any lotion with oatmeal(my skin was so itchy from the spinal)

You want very high waisted undies for sure. When they remove the medical tape that area is super sensitive as well. I had tears is some spots that hurt like hell.

live in the mesh underwear they give you in the hospital and stock up on high waisted underwear, loose pants that you can hike up so it doesn't touch your incision.

Re: hospital bag for a c-section?
I am in the hospital now, and I totally glad I came in so I know what I do and don't need.
Those granny panties are a must! I can't believe I'd ever wear them, but here I am, and I need more! I am also grateful for roomy nighties that go below the knee. I ordered mine from the Hanes catalog- it's a plain long nightgown that just looks like a mega-long tee shirt. They're long enough to not show the world your butt, but short/accessible enough for exaMs/easy access. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, shaving cream etc. Bring your wipes and any quick facial cleansing cloths. You'll be glad to have them, especially with all of the impromptu nurse/doctor visits. Finally, chap stick. Your lips will becracked and dry from the air they constantly pump through the vents. My cocoa butter is also my best friend!
I brought a going-home outfit (maternity of course) and my everyday flats. I found flip flops to be a waste of time, unless those are your everyday go-to shoes.
I also found that hard candies helped w/my dry mouth/throat.
